    research paper

Well, I figured if I have to write all these papers in college it may as well be about something Im interested in. I am in the process of writing a research paper about how scrapping can be a viable income substitute not just in tough times, but any time! It starts to get into economics as I have to talk about opportunity costs and how to best use time efficiently to make it profitable. This site has given me most of the core info that I need for this project, so I thank all of you!!

That sounds like a great idea for a research paper. I'm sure you would find a lot of members willing to help with information for your research. Best of luck to you!

Your sentence structure looks pretty good so far. You should do fine as long as you arrange your ideas in order.

Income? You mean this is supposed to be more than a hobby?

Good luck on your paper. Just remember to credit SSA for his quotes!

In a free economy it is all about supply and demand. Incorporating scrapping, socialism, and lazy faire capitalism into the paper will earn you a doctorate. Basing this theory on Obama's speech last night on the energy sector. Is this a paper on micro or macro economics? I would love a project like this. Good luck.

P.S. Throw in the fact the ships that load steel in our ports, go to international waters, refine the metal, and bring it back to us for a cheaper price than we can do it on our soil and I bet your professor will offer you a grad ass job.

Now that's a good original topic for a paper! Should be fun to research and write.

It could span both micro and macroeconomics. At the micro level, you have the entrepreneur trying to maximize profit through judicious selection of materials to recycle and allocation of labor. The growth of the recycling industry in general, and the distribution of the inputs (materials mostly from developed economies and labor from both developed and developing economies), can be analyzed from the macro perspective. You could get a whole thesis out of this!

I'd assume "grab" just at the graduate school level.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

No way -- we want her to get a GOOD grade!

I do feel like a student here, though, because I learn something new each day. Which, now that I think about it, was not always the case when I was an actual college student...

Jenni (J.J.) - Didn't you have a picture of you with a girl as an avatar? Did you break up? I think that threw a few off balance. I was impressed a girl would be so interested in trucks.
