    I'd guess if it was the poll would show 1 in a hundred at best, maybe 2 or 3 on a good day

    Well, at least it makes sense that a lot of scrappers are guys. I couldn't move, let alone pick up, most of the stuff you all are throwing in your trucks. Half of it probably weighs more than I do.

    What I've never understood, though, is why there are so few women who are into computers.

    It may just be the local at any given time. I think the PC world mushroomed since the Y2K era came and went. I wasn't really into em until that time either. Doing a bank building punch list around 2000 there was one guy there who kept their machines going. There was also one young lady who was building their database.
    It probably is dominated by men, but even in a very popular computer chatroom I used to frequent there were at least as many women there too.
    Still I think you're largely right about that
