Stumbled upon this video showing how to turn a sat. dish into a super wifi antennae. Wishing I had one to tinker with now. This guy doesn't know the value of the garbage he is throwing away.

I have that Belkin...it's crap..I would probably make a cantenna with it and mount that to the dish instead of what he did.
I did something like this before...with a bi-quad antenna...easy to make. Took the bi-quad and mounted it to the dish...ran the antenna lead to a alfa AWUS036H..and then you can run the alfa into the R36 router. Works well, but was too hard to aim...the beam is very narrow and you need a good line of sight..too many trees around here.
I got 2-23db wifi antennnea I need to mount I got the pole set just need to bolt them on and run the wires, too much scrap not enough time! I got a university and prob 100,000 houses within a couples miles of me.
I built one of these. It does work. Works great but a metal coffee antenna works good too and smaller. You can setup a FTA satellite system with larger dishes 30 inches and larger. Free tv but lots for foreign stations. A fta receive will scan all unencrypted stations off satellites. I picked military drones and security cameras. I remember one station was a camera in a bathroom. Pretty sick
