    My almost good deed

    As usual doing some searching
& I saw some person struggling a smallish person I was not sure if a girl or guy . they were wheeling a dolly device with suit case duffel bag all strapped tight this person was struggling and tripping in the snow on a busy road .
All cars are just whisking past and here this fellow human looks to be on there last strength
I drive by also and feel like what if that was me in life .
So I go my way, look in a few containers and work my way in the round circle of the shopping center.
The sad sap walking person still looking beat down from life .

I say to my self the heck with this Let me offer to help.
I stop and ask are you all right . This is a dangerous road ,Do you need Help ?

I see by now this is a girl & she scorns a look at me , yells DO YOU KNOW ME !
I said no but you look like you need help.
She says your a racist Get outa here you racist .
I have nothing to prove I drive away & think I know my hart was in the rite place.

Proud of ya, Copperhead. It's more blessed to give than to receive and that's just what you did, so you received your blessing and the poor ignorant girl missed out on hers. Don't give up on doing that. Most times the person is appreciative and actually needs and wants help. When I see reaction like hers, I just figure they're having a bad day and give them the benefit of the doubt. Keep doing good deeds, Copperhead.

Nice try copper head, keep it up. Unfortunately it sounds like that person had more issues than you might have been able to deal with.

At Woodman, the op didn't mention what race the person was...don't think what you posted is in good taste either.

Copper, I can tell you exactly what happened here. That person did not think you were offering to help with their suitcase. They thought you meant help with their life.

I have to admit, being a former Louisiana resident, I laughed at that a bit...

You never can tell what the problem is. We have an older woman around here that has a small house that her kids built for her but won't live in it because she hears voices in there or something. We see her parked in her minitruck at various pullouts in the highway around here where she sleeps. Different place each day. One day she will talk to you normally and the next day she avoids you like you're the devil. I guess it depends on whether she takes her meds or not.

The human mind is a wondrous thing but it can be a viscous tyrant.

    Its just sad.

    Jon.

You are probably better off not helping her. With the issues it sounds like she had she could just have well accepted the ride then later on accuse you of something like sexual assault, and during the ride could have observed enough stuff to give descriptions to the police and sound believable.

People are nuts. Don't let this bother you from helping others. Just be more cautious.

Some times you gotta try . But I do admit when she said that I said to my self you never know you go to help next thing you get stabbed or black mailed .
There was a case on Long Island years ago . A woman would sit by the road looking all messed up and when some one stopped to help they got robbed .

Still I have seen myself run out of fuel or stranded and then I received help fast . So I used my judgment , I help as I have been .

I kinda look like Rufus though (from house of a 1000 corpses the first movies before devils rejects) Little bigger though. I love peoples reactions when I stop to help them out. Usually I get the "windows go up and they are instantly on guard" until I get them going if it is something easily fixed or to get them to the next town and say thank you.

Saw my neighbor's pickup sitting along the road last night on my way home. Yep, he called me this morning and asked if I'd haul it home for him. Went and loaded my skidsteer, picked him up and we hurried and put down the ramps along the road (very narrow pavement with guard rails). We blocked one lane and I took the skidsteer and pushed his rig out onto the highway and onto the trailer, parked the skidsteer back off the road on the only turnout and we took off. (That was faster than winching it on with a comealong). Went 10 miles and blew a tire on my trailer. Changed that and took him home. I know he's broke (very much so) so instead of a cash promise, I offered to take a small pile of iron from a trailerhouse demolition he was involved with. He agreed and also said there wasn't much there. Not that I'm such a good guy, but his own relatives won't help him and he has no friends, so as his only closeby neighbor, I'm staying on his good side. Wife's oyster stew and hot coffee went down WELL ! Now to go retrieve my skidsteer off the highway.

Never know. People are fickle. Reminds me of some drivers. You give them room or move out the way only to get dirty looks or a finger lol. Maybe they impede your path. What's that they are yelling ? OMG .

Devil rejects..isn't that where they played freebird at the end? If so..best part of that whole movie. lol.

Nice try tho CH, Karma won't overlook you buddy. Some folks just got issues. There is fella down here on my sandbar, walks everywhere, sleeps out doors. By choice. He's a few beers short of a 6 pack. He's mostly harmless but he's getting worse. Makes rifle motions now at people who drive by, where before he would just stand there, and wait till all cars passed before continueing on his way. He gets money every week from family, but won't stay indoors. Drugs, an mental issues is what led him to this life. The cops now keep a closer eye on him as he's getting worse. Like I said before he was mostly harmless, now more an more are having issues with him, an no not provoking him. He's just get getting worse. Sad but such is life.

I forget the stats, but I believe the majority of people living on the streets are there by choice, an cause their snypase's arent' synapsing. Sure I spelt it wrong, but I'm a scrapper not an English Major. lol.
