Can you sell an old laptop or cell phone batteries to a scrap yard or anyplace local?

I doubt fedex would allow you to ship it considering they are made of a potential hazardous material. I found three laptops in december, 1 I kept for personal use and the other two I took apart. I have 2 laptop batteries and several old cell phone batteries. Before I give them to batteries plus to recycle for the envioroment, I would like to double check to see if there is any way I could actually profit of these materials. Thanks in advance for any help

Read the buyers threads that do take laptop and cell batteries. One caution is that the connectors must be taped. Also ship ground and that takes care of the flying with Li-Ion batteries problem.

So yes you can sell them but you will need to build a stock pile of material to make it worth the shipping costs. Do take the time to do more reading of the old threads they really will make you more money. Best of luck, Mike.
