Anybody know anything about old fax machines? Any gold or silver? Or just copper & steel?

Thats a real general question. Open one up and take a look. Thats the best way to learn. I am sure there are boards and other goodies inside. If you want to know if you should buy them them I recommend paying no more than shred price if you had to buy it. Lots of plastic to deal with.

Only to add to what Brass already said, any older machines will have better stuff in them. Older things also have a chance of being wanted elsewhere at better prices(although not always, probably certainly not with a fax) so proceed with caution any time you look at something to smash up. It's just better to consider this option before the fact ; ) happy scrappin man

Any gold or silver would be in the boards. Low grade, mid grade and power boards are what you'll find in them. Also you will find electric motors and some wire that will go as #2 insulated copper. If your real lucky you might get one that somebody dropped a gold ring in to and couldn't get it out but good luck with that.

The FAQ up in the left section will tell you how to. Or you can use a hosting site like most of us do. Imageshack, Photobucket, Imgur, etc. Most are free, and rather easy to use.
