Those chair alum? If so make sure you remove the rivets, so you get clean price. Drill'm or cut'm out. nice haul! The season is up on us for me, soon I'll be seeing glorius alum chairs everywhere! I love people who buy'm, break them somehow an just toss them in the can.

An good on you for getting a thrift store! They are a great source. Keep it up, an not only will your piles grow but so will your network.

Dude, did you take the time to go inside, seek out the manager, and introduce yourself? As good as things are, it can be better.

I would think he did talk to the manager sense he went there to pick up HIS bins that he left there to be filled with scrap. John; good score, congrats on the thrift store.

Keep it up man. Now get us some pics of the next haul. You can even have your thrift store thread like Auminer! That slacker needs to update his more.

Keep it going Johny, an be sure to stop by with some doughnuts or a pizza or a donation now an then. No different then the yard. The staff will love you for it. Not to mention they'll also start to know what you like, an will keep those bins full for you. Sure you mentioned it to them, but also let them know you'll take loose cables, wires, etc. My one thrift store...they give me all their cords unless it's attached to the item it belongs to. They are always good for 30 to 50lbs of just cords/wire/etc. That adds up when your picking up once or twice a week from them.

I would update mine more... but I don't wanna come across as a braggart!

Will post a pic of tomorrow's haul if I can find the original thread. Or here if johnyor29 doesn't mind me steppin' on his thread.

I knew if I mentioned you, you'd pop up.

Gotta do that more often, I can only pick on BC so much.

Johny let Auminer be your guide to all things thrift shop, the man is a master at it. Find his thread, you'll enjoy seeing the things he's found, an that's just the icing, he doesn't show us all the whole cake.

and scrapalot i will get some pics of the next haul i hope the foroum will let me post pics soon. it may take a few weeks to get a good load. i will be saveing as much as i can gonna fill my explorer up to the roof lol. i wanna go with alot at one time so makes my trip to yard worth it more. and i will probably have to do it on a saturday i am not working at my factory doing reactive maintenance. i work like 12 or more hours now which i love the overtime. i wish i had more time to really do some more curb shopping. i got out this morning it is trash day in neighborhood. alot of people was spring cleaning but temp is from 70 to 20 in like one day and snowing. i got a few alum items. i think most people kept junk piles in garage since so cold lol.

    OK, then...

Well. out & about on my route today, I picked up a nice water heater. No pic,,, yall know what they look like. And then, a lady from my wife's book club, who's an architect, called me to pick up a few items from her office... turned out to be 6 Dell GX620s, and a few UPS's. Stipulated was I was required to destroy them, so no resale. Anyway, 6 Dells with a pair of 1GB rams in each, but a P4 too old for resale is a nice grab... and ~ 9 UPS's is always good.

So, home to switch trucks & head to the thrift store.

Mind you, this is just from today:

So... several vacuums, 3 radios, a box of non-brass doorknobs, 2 Razr scooters, several radios, several alarm clocks, several home cordless phones, 3 lamps, one of which was pretty much all brass... a couple of microwaves, one aluminum, one copper transformer on them... other various stuff. A couple chandeliers, a few bedside alarm clocks... the basics. All of the things a very busy resale shop can't/won't resell.

All in all, a good day!!!

Like others have said, congrats on the thrift store and your scores! I live thru other scrappers who are able to haul and get such scores!! I really dont have room for large items such as tvs, and no truck. But I am thankfui to have an SUV and a blanket to put down and I manage to cram things in.

Let us know how you do when you take it all to thew scrapyard and luv those pics!
