    Wow, that's messed up. Before I send anything via mail, I do extensive reference check. In my case though, I live an hour and a half away from my guy. You have a name and an address, start there. Do a police report, then contact an attorney. You may me need small claims court.

    the yards i deal with all pay CASH on your way out. always i even scrapped an old highway trailer once (14 000lbs or so) they pulled me into the back office and started counting 100's. what posible benifit could adding the complications of payment by cheque have to anyone involved? cash is king, if you cant pay cash you cant afford it, etc etc. paypal would make more sence in this day and age then a cheque..... i mean cmon

    Everyone uses checks. Cash is a hassel alot. Most yards have a bank backing them so they may not always have the cash on hand.

    I think having too much cash on hand is dangerous. Heavens know May show up there with a bad attitude. In New York and Florida I notice that once your load is of a certain amount, you're getting cash.

    so they pay cash for larger loads and make you deal with a cheque for smaller amounts? seems backwards to me.... here allot of them are in a booth behind plex with the register ive seen automated machines that dispense cash for material received on tv..... it would seem to me you would want the paper trail to be larger on bigger payouts over small to avoid tax evasion, money laundering etc but they do it backwards from my logic? lol

    HUH? Ca$H is a Hassle ???
    To me checks are the Hassle >> inconvenience, bother, nuisance, problem, trouble, struggle, difficulty, annoyance, irritation, thorn in one's side/flesh, fuss;

    I would think that if the yard has a bank backing them they would ALWAYS have Ca$H on hand

    Seems you have it backwards

    Yards in this area ALWAYS pay ca$H
    RAS pays with a check drawn on BOA that can be cashed at the BOA you pass on the way back to route 95

    I get your point. Anyhow, dropped off another load today and you guessed it, I got another check. The check cashed fine so let's see what happens in a few days.

    I agree. Cash is trouble free. I worked at the yard I deal with. Bullet proof glass and several employees behind the glass carry a firearm ,which is visible to everyone. Very effective deterrent.

    Mine does cash as well... but the only guy carrying a gun behind my yard's bulletproof glass is the off-duty cop that's there the whole time the place is open.

    I had the same thing happen to me here in Hawaii (not a yard), and it was for a very large company. So I was kind of like wow.. their check bounced?

    Someone didn't put my routing information in correctly? Can't remember exactly what the issue was, but they sent me another check + fees.

    Honest mistake!
