    The black things look like ferrite. Basically, ceramic and iron. They break easily but are magnetic. Mine go with LIGHT IRON.

    Those are ferrite chokes, if you happen to have engine noise in your CB radio in your truck, (coming in the electric line) put one or two of those chokes inline will take out the noise. The grey one you can open to wrap the wire easier.

    The plastic ones are also ferrite, open them up and put them in with your shred.
