Dialysis Machine! :o

Just when things started getting slow and I started hunkering down (due to metal prices) my weekly contact gave me a load of goodies. Among them were 7 dialysis machines. Contrary to what my partner thinks (says its "creepy"), I find these machines to be beautiful medical marvels. Little did I know that long after their job of saving lives is over, they are still so valuable! I have my work cut out for me and only had the time to snap a few pics. The entire thing is encased in plastic . But about 10 screws later, the entire inside simply slides out and I'm thinking I have to sort through plastic tubing, scrap steel, insulated wires, etc. just to get to the good stuff. Nope. ALL ALUMINIUM! Down to even the screws and washers, the whole thing is aluminium, tons of insulated wire, copper motors, and circuit boards (I'm going to venture nothing higher than mid-grade).




A 10 to 15 pound power supply. Low grade board (with some copper transformers), random wires, and the large copper coil.


The actual guts and magic of the machine. About 40 pounds of piping, copper motors, insulated wire, and aluminium.

I had six of those and like you said almost all aluminum. The ones I had, had very little plastic, 15# transformers, alot of wire, alot of mid grade boards and about 2 million screws.
