If you bring in all the Cu together in one bin, then they will give it the lowest grade for what it is. If you separate it, they should pay you 2 different grades. Mine has given me both clean and dirty aluminum prices once but the next time they gave me clean and let me throw the few dirty things i had in with it, even though i had them off to the side. But I always try to keep everything organized when I bring it to make both our lives easier and go faster, and they do notice it.

Picked up this HP2009M 20" LCD monitor up on the side of the road on Saturday. Works great, included video cable, power cable and sound cable for built in speakers.

Today was definitely one of my best scrapping days. I responded to a free CL ad for scrap metal a few towns over on Monday, and we agreed for me to come over today. It listed a few grills, a swingset and a few other things need to be cleaned up from yard. So I make the drive out today and get there around 3. He asks if I want this and that and these as we walk to the backyard and I say yes to it all. He says he has a dryer downstairs I can have, sure! As I'm taking the swingset apart he loaded it into my truck, then he comes back and asks if I could take some ladders. So a 2 foot, 8 ft, and 14 or 16 ft extension all ended up in my truck, all 3 were aluminum. A/c commercial unit shell, some painting/mudding tools, portable radiator, heater, kids bike, a decent length roll of either galvanized steel or AL, about a foot wide, and some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.

But it gets better. After it's all loaded up, he brings me to the garage. "I have all these tools, extension cords, push mower, shop vac, etc, would you be interested?" Of course! So he then brings me to his basement, and in one room he offers stereos, tv, vacuum, drywall sander, anything else he doesn't want. As we are about to leave, the door to another room was open and he goes in and says oh ya, and pretty much everything in this room too. Paint sprayer, tons of tools, another bike, some electronic stuff. His dad was a packrat so he needs to clean it out, and he said he was ecstatic that he got in contact with me. I had given him a business card earlier, and he said I will definitely keep you busy, and asked for a few more to give to some people he knew. All in all it was a great day, he said he didn't want any cash unless I made crazy money somehow but I am definitely going to be giving him some next time I go. He said next Thursday I can head over again for more. This is my first "contact" that I've actually made and it feels great!!

Great Job...keep it up! If the ladders are still useable, throw them on Craigslist.

F350 that's what I plan on doing, I'm about to go make sure they work good. I ended up with 4, the smallest is busted, 6 foot works but has a broken tray piece but it doesn't effect the sturdiness of it. Bigger 2 I haven't checked yet

2nd trip to the house. Not too much metal on this one, instead of paying him for everything, I'm just going to take some of the junk he has laying around(plastic, wood, etc). Not too bad of a deal. Finished the yard and barely started the garage but I ran out of safe space. Ended up with an older electric Craftsman weedwacker that works, 1/2" Dewalt mixing drill that works, tons of tools, framing square and some heavy duty totes w/ lids. After I was all loaded up and about to leave, an older man from across the street came over and asked me if I wanted a snowblower he had that didn't run so I got that too. Not too bad of a day.

I go to school for Business administration, and during class one day my economics teacher asked what we do for work so I said I scrap and he talked to me after class about what he had and said I could have it all for free. Had to wait for grades to go through first so went and got it today. Brinkman grill, craftsman push mower, not sure if it runs, craftsman weedwacker has good compression should run, 2 beach chairs, some metal thing, stroller, seed spreader and toilet thing.

3rd trip to the house. Started the garage today, probably got about 80% of what they want gone. Got some nice goodies on this one, including 2 shop vacs that I was told do work. Also got a radiator, 2 brooms(we tend to break alot), tons and tons of tools, 5 or so jugs of antifreeze, bucket of nails, and tons more. Still need to finish the garage and then start on basement on Friday(this is where he said the real good stuff is).
