Man CT folks got some DUCKETS to give away! Nice Score!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
haha gotta be quick though!! usually I get there and they're like you were the first to call, and few minutes after that I got like 20 other people. i have a CL secret
He said he tried to sell them all winter and was just going to scrap them but that they were too nice, which is definitely true. Already wrapped in bubble wrap too!
Going through bins from that house cleanout and found this brand new never used 3/8 cordless drill. Has box, manual, battery and charger! Works great so I have the battery charging now. Only $16 at HF but hey, I can use this when my other one is charging!
Free tools= NICE!
There ain't nothing wrong with an honest days work. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool.- Old Man
Definitely! Can't beat that price. I'll post a pic of all the other tools I got, and he said most of them are in the basement, which we haven't gotten to yet

Little aluminum trip to the yard, not a whole lot but these have just been taking up space and I'm always moving them.

-Been awhile since last post, just started 2 new jobs! First is working maintenance at the schools a few towns over. First day was today, did a few odds and ends, but tomorrow we start the major project: stripping all the copper pipe for the air conditioning from 1 of the schools. The worst part?: we cant keep it town brings it in and puts the money towards the school. -
-Anyway, other job is working for a lady who cleans out deceased persons' homes. Great pay, and as we were unloading the truck into the dumpster, I asked if all the metal was going in. She said yes, so I asked if I could have it to help save room in the dumpster for everything else and she said it was all mine!! So got alot of steel, decent amount of aluminum, some brass and copper, and electrical items and cords including an 80s computer, AKAI radio tuner, older Weller soldering gun, and some other goodies.
-Left all that stuff in my truck since it was past 11 when I got home last night and leaving the school from work today, took a back road home and loaded up with alot of goodies: fridge, folding chairs, computer tower, 2 keyboards, 3 bikes, 2 vacuums, weedwacker, and some other things. It was pretty obvious it was all dragged out of the woods/been sitting on the ground for some time. Fridge was a little heavy by myself trying to load it ontop of all the scrap I already had in the back but I got it.
This is from the house cleanout: that lockbox is a good 20-25lbs
This is what I grabbed on the way home today ontop of the previous picture.
Nice c10 you have that could definitely be used for some advertisement...
Congrats on all the good scores. Sweet truck man! I know it's hard scrapping with such a little truck bed, been there...

Thanks tubadude and Electro. The only real downside is the 10 mpg I get. I've had 1120 lbs in it before and it still could have moved more. I've been looking at those car magnets from Vistaprint and might be getting some soon

Got a response to my wanted ad on Freecycle. Guy called, had 2 shelving units, and a few car rims. Showed up and there were 2 thin shelves, 1 heavy galvanized one, 6 steel rims, 2 metal kitchen cabinets, small steel sheet metal, a roll of a small swimming pool, 80s Ram 100 fender, radiator support and bumper filler, and a few random other things. Also picked up a dehumidifier, 2 mini fridges, a working washer, water cooler from office, and working craftsman garage door opener the past 2 days. Been working like crazy so sorry for the lack of updates.
Hey...ya work with what you have. Tie-downs and playing Tetris can really help you cram the loads into a short box. I'm learning this now with my '96 1500.
As for the door magnets, I just ordered some along with new business cards and a lawn sign. If you haven't ordered yet, try using 8282 for a promo code...I forget what exactly the discount is, but it's good.
Subed! Loving this thread, GOODLUCK SCRAPPING!
Thank you!! And ya pack it tight helps save space and also keeps things from moving around.

Lt. Iron run, saw a sheet of diamond plate in the pile, asked a worker if they sell stuff from the pile and he came over and looked at it, said it was steel, and just throw it in my truck and don't tell anyone. Sweet!! Then I get home and find out its actually aluminum, the rust spots were from where the screws held it on. I'm gonna be using it as a floor in my truck bed so metal doesn't dig into the wood.

Got a call back from the same guy I picked up the shelves/fender/radiator support from for an engine block, metal pipes, and some car parts. Got a 350 block, heads, intake, all pistons & rods, small aluminum engine, starters, a/c pump. Also got tail lights and headlight buckets from a 73 Camaro in great shape. Picked up an A/C and bike on the way back on the guy's road, and then saw a grill in someones yard about 10' off the road. So I stopped and asked and he said he just didn't use it but it's in good shape and it was all mine. So after me and my buddy loaded it, he asked if I take other metal and I said yep. His sister is moving/cleaning out and has a fridge, washer/dryer and some other stuff and doesn't want to pay to take them to the dump so I said I'll take 'em for free. Asked if I had a card and I pulled one out and handed it to him and he said he'll definitely give me a call when they're ready to go!
Also started to put the diamond plate in my bed today.
