Had to pass up a pick this morning :(

had to pass on a water heater on my 1 mile drive to work this morning. I hope it's still there on lunch.
If I took my truck and not my wife's jeep this morning...

    that is all.

Tip it over and roll it into the bushes for safe keeping.

there is still mud in it from our last off road trip.

I wasn't sure if it would fit, but I'm gonna try if it's still there on my lunch break.

I'm thinking it would have to really be off the beaten path for it to still be there.

you'd be surprised. It's off the main road. I see stuff lying around for a long time. Once this snow melts I might start knocking on the neighbors' doors asking if they want to sell or get rid of some things.

My neighbor has a water heater lying in the weeds in his backyard. I want to ask about it. I don't like talking to people, though, so i keep putting it off.

Ask him he may have more stuff! I am sure he knows what you do. I have had neighbors put stuff in my truck bed overnight, not sure who it was but was happy!

    got it.

looks to be a couple pounds of brass, some wiring... lighter than I expected though.

Fully drained. My wife rolled her eyes at me when I pulled that out of the back of her jeep while she was cooking lunch. hahaha

    Sorry but I couldn't resist...

One thing I do different now is use a rubber, shot filled hammer to feat the buck out of the vice grips...easier on the ears for me and the neighbors.

Yea..you'd be surprised what's still there when you pass it up the first go around. I've done that, seen something, usually opposite side of the road I'm traveling, an on my way to something else. Come back that same route, an it's still there 5 or 7 hours later. Amazes me when that happens, as we have quite a few metal scrappers here on the sandbar.

Now, I just goto the source. Make friends with the smaller plumbing companies, an let them drop'm off, or I go by their location an pick them up. None of that pesky dealing with other people who get all pissy when you beat them to the product. An I get all the extra copper, brass etc the guys have left over from jobs.

Glad it worked out for ya Lousy.
