    Thumbs up High Voltage Cable 60lbs paid only 60$

    Hi, I juste bought a high voltage (1000 volt) cable total weights is 60lbs and I only paid 60$ for this cable

    Stripped I can easy get 140$ for it, my local scrap yard buy any copper for 2.80$ Lbs... its a good deal.

    Your thinkin high voltage will return 90%?...i bet not

    It isn't high voltage at 1000V rating. If it has aluminum armor, like a teck cable it will have about 50% recovery. If it just has a plain single layer plastic insulation it will be up there in recovery. If you are figuring on $140, you're banking on 83% recovery.

    I have stripped a 16 cm sample, its 0.11lbs copper and 0.1lbs plastic.

    I would think you would need a larger sample size

    Well, when my 5feet of cold canadian snow gone.. I will strip it all....

    Ouch!..... 0.11lbs copper/0.21lbs total = 53% recovery.

    You sure you didn't mean 0.11 lbs copper and 0.01 lbs insulation? That would be a 92% recovery.
