    More auctions.

I won two auctions this time, neither as big as the traffic controllers but one is a working digital typesetter (proper name?) for a printing press, the other is a mixed lot of computer parts with what I spied to have a thermaltake power supply tester that I PRAY works because I overpaid a bit for the parts.

Pictures after I pick them all up. It'll be several days yet but excitement over this big ticket item has set in. It needs a new laser head is what she said to me, it overheats and cuts out. Has not been used in years. They are liquid cooled closed loop systems for cooling and I am willing to bet it had started leaking somewhere and doesn't have enough fluid in it now. Pray for an easy fix and fast sale on that one. Either way, I got it for less than scrap value. I've shopped it around already and a local newspaper said that if I got it working and it tests out good they will buy it from me to replace an older model they have now which I can get that one too.

Go Army! Congratulations, that sounds like a no-lose deal -- the very best kind. ;-)

Sounds like this must be the machine that actually makes the plates for the press. Does it look sort of like a giant laser printer?

Parup Eskofot (mitsubishi) 1740 polyester plate maker. It has an industrial laser diode that requires cooling, and they tell me it hasn't been used because it stops after only a few minutes running. I'm almost certain the closed loop cooling system leaked.

The other lot has one of these. It's 40 bucks brand new, and I'm willing to bet it wasn't supposed to be in the lot, and if I find it gone I'm going to go back on my bid.
