Ok.. so it was 320 lbs of tomato cages.. A lot more than I thought honestly!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

FINALLY! Found an AWESOME welder with the time to do my removable fenders. Still have to prime and paint, and re-install my trailer plate.. but it was a lot of planning and work to get these done! HAPPY!

Lookin good Sledge. Not sure if you remember but we have the same trailer...just had to check mine to see if somehow it magically had new fenders on it.

Sledge I think the only difference is I have a little dovetail on the back. The fender in the pic looks a little worse for wear now a days.

I think you are right! And those fenders look pretty familiar! Mine held up about as well.. bugged me from the day I bought it off the guy. Now some finishing touches and I may have it to badarse!

Fenders have been primed and painted with Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner. Hoping that doing the prep work well.. this will hold up great. If so I think the entire trailer will get the treatment... as Line-X wants $1500 to do it. OUCH!
I have to wait a day or two for them to cure before slapping them back on the trailer.. but getting close to "done time" Whoot!

Thanks man.. well from reading all the "Jeep/Offroad forums".. apparently touch ups can just be sprayed when needed and blend well.. knowing myself.. if they get too scratched up.. I may take em off and coat them when I see fit. I'll be sure to keep all of you posted on the durability of the product as some of you may want to utilize this for yourself down the road!

I'm not so sure about the spray on D-I-Y liner. I've heard it will start peeling in like a year. This is just what I heard though.

Just like any other paint project...it's all about the prep. My issue was fading after a few years but some black spray paint brought it back to life.

I've heard both sides. I've heard guys who say it will peel, I've heard guys say "This stuff has held up like steel!" I agree it is all about the prep.. Prep AND CURE. I am nervous about it holding up too.. but I will tell everyone how it works out. Some of these offroad guys think they can paint their parts with this stuff on Friday and go mudding hard on Saturday- I have to take their opinions with a grain of salt. I saw one guy who said "This stuff didn't hold up at all" He hit a freakin boulder with his "slider" the day after he painted it.. DURRR.. Not much would hold up to what he hit even if his part had full cure time!
The ONLY worry I have at this point is that I did use an oil based sandable primer as they said you should.. but most of the guys that had great results said that they used a SELF-ETCHING primer.. so if it fails.. I will know where it failed and WHY it failed. Both are oil based, but that one little difference MAY make the difference. I did go to the manufacturer of the primer beforehand and it says it will prime bare metal. So I THINK I will be ok. Only time will tell.
Right now the fenders are sitting in my home office with a space heater that is keeping the room at 72 degrees. I'm going to allow them to sit in a dry, warm and low humidity environment to cure for at least 3 days.. then I will spot check them with a fingernail to see if they have fully cured.
The great thing about it is this: It is a car hauler trailer.. I'm looking to get it to look better than its rusty self.. BUT it isn't a "100 point show car" either.. so if I do some testing and it holds up I'll look to do the whole trailer that way.. if it starts to peel or flake off.. I can shoot the trailer with farm implement paint instead.
I recently painted my clients shipping container with the same primer and farm implement paint and am watching to see how it holds up. After 6 months of rain, hail and baking sun- thus far it still looks awesome. But I wanted to attempt something a little different with these fenders.. Better to start with them and see vs doing the whole trailer and finding out it will peel and go to poopy!

Saw this at CurbCo on the way home. You e-waste hardcore guys will probably yawn.. I just said "Dang that thing Looks OLD" so I picked it up.
I see a sticker on it that says it has a Pentium 4 in it. Really? Will believe that when I see it.

Ok.. So Tangent Computer got gutted today.. I'm about to poop.. but it actually DID have a Pentium 4 in it. I have a lot to learn about e-waste.
Here is some of the guts.. now I just need to start figuring out what is good stuff, how to clean.. and what is just junk. Lots to read on the forum and catch up on!
Also my fenders have cured for a week.. Time to give em a test and see how they fare:
