Jon-
Thank you sir. Took me a lot longer to engineer that darn thing than I thought. If I were to do over again I probably would have just bought one with an end already attached.. BUT.. I got this on sale (12,000 lb
winch replacement line) at HF on sale at $35 bucks. Terminal end was $7 and the welder did the tack for me for free. I'd know how to do it if I ever have to again.. but it was a lot longer process than I anticipated.
With steel being in ze toilet I wasn't in a huge rush.. but January is coming and I wanted to get it resolved before the snow flew and cars become a lot more abundant in the winter (Christmas bills people have to pay and such)
As far as the country move- we are looking at a 5 year plan of attack. We re-financed our mortgage on the present house to a 15 year about 2 years ago. By my amortization schedule by the time that 5 year mark comes we will have quite a bit more equity in the house- which will make the move and our next adventure much more economically pleasing. I was also recently able to re-negotiate my present contract and garnished a fairly sizable rate increase.. so adding both of those factors in together- 5 years we will sit very pretty.
We have our eye on a few properties.. but will continue to monitor them and go with the flow.
