I don't know how old you are but you can not start out at the top in this or any other business. You have to start out at the bottom and slowly work your way up. break everything down and learn the different metals and what's worth breaking down and what's not. You will never make 150.00 per day useing a PT crouser, you need at least a trailer or a truck. Shop around to different scrap yards for the best prices. Some yards will pay more for some things and less on others. I have been doing this for 7 years and I'm still learning. I use 4 different yards for my scrap and have one local buyer for e-waste. Check out Ewasted in the buyers section, he is located in Ohio and is not that far from you. Ship him the more valuable items, shipping should not be that much. Also try to find an e-waste buyer close to you that you could drive to. Like everybody else said read as much as you can and learn the different things that are in a computer that worth more than steel. Just remember steel is one of the cheapest things to sell. Good luck and don't give up, keep pushing forward and keep learning you just might reach your goal of 150.00 per day.

nope and just a heads up. the yard will not feel "guilty" dropping your entire load of aluminum if you put a piece of irony in the load on accident. maybe they will tell you maybe not. but hey, atleast you didn't put that plastic in the shred pile.

I know what you are saying and I've also seen the refrigerators, with all their foam insulation, in the shred pile and I've seen the guy who oversees it watch people throw out all sorts of stuff that contain less metal than garbage and he doesn't say anything so I guess I shouldn't let it bother me. I know you guys would freak if you saw the way I break down my stuff but right now I just have way more time than money so I break stuff down as far as possible (sometimes going as far as cutting all the aluminum into lengths that will fit nicely into my bins rather than leave them stick out.) I just pulled a rug shampooer out of the dumpster today and that bugger is much heavier than any vacuum I've dealt with. I'll tear it down tomorrow.
