Cl is a lot of fun around here when youre not the one trying to sell something. Being within a few miles of Detroit means i get all the crazies every time i post a car. A month or so ago i was trying to sell my old 86 C10. It didnt run, had a few problems, but was all there. Priced it overly high expecting to be kicked down a lot. I got at least 10 offers between $200 and $400. Then ill say "No thanks. Im just going to part it out now". Thats when they up their offers by $50... Well, the city made a fuss about me having the truck s i really did end up parting it out and send the rest to the scrapper before they could charge me (turns out they did anyways without warning...). Now im stuck with a bunch of Chevy parts along with parts from the last 3 or 4 cars because NO ONE needs these parts apparently. I thought 350 parts would go pretty fast.... I have ads for car parts, vintage electronics, old gauges and meters. Its always "I know youre asking $50 but ill give you $10" or nothing at all...

Im done with my rant. I feel better now...

I would have stopped right there. Two things I make very clear on CL; I don't hold and I don't deliver. If you cannot afford to come and get the item you want to buy then you cannot afford to buy it. if she has makeup and some old clothes she can make a costume. I have learned that folks who want deliveries are either lazy or want to get you out and lowball you thinking that you will take it since you already came all the way out.

    From a local Craigslist:

"PCI Wireless B network adapter for desktop PC. Great for gold recovery. Or use to view internet. $30 firm. must be gone by end of month."

The funny thing- he brought it in for free recycling the next month. How'd that gold recovery thing go?

People who work in retail have many stories of stupid customers. Now with free ads, absolutely anyone can have the retail experience.

I know that in periods when I was out on bond and/or under investigation, I always had great luck selling things on craigslist. Like I had a zenith 26 inch tv and vcr on craigslist for 10 dollars...and somebody offered to pay 20 dollars for the lot (when they could have offered 5 and i'd have sold it...I wasn't a scrapper back then) and this woman shows up very intent on getting INSIDE my apartment to do the transaction by HERSELF...

idk offering to pay double on a POS and then wanting to get inside a strange mans apartment by yourself, when I could have been a craigslist killer, is just highly suspect to me. Now I'm not saying she was a fed, but she was a fed.

same story selling broken laptops for parts, people came THAT DAY and offered to pay me well above my asking price.

so the moral of the story is, if you are ever under investigation, sell things that they think would be useful in their investigation, and ask a ridiculous price. they will find out and they will buy it.

DS- You hadn't posted for while. Thought you might be cooling your heels in the pokey over the weekend because of your various dumpster diving exploits. Nice to hear from you again!

Your lady wanting to pay you more than what you were asking and get into your apt. sort of reminds me of when I was selling a rifle back during the Clinton years. They had tried to pass the anti- "assault weapons" ban and AR-15s were a hot item (as they've been in the recent past again). Anyway, the bro was down in AZ and while talking one day he mentioned how high priced AR-15s were there, about $300 or more than what they were going for here. Against my better judgement, I bought one here but before I could get down to AZ with it, the Repubs with their "contract with America" won that Nov. (1994) and the gun hysteria sort of tappered down again. Meanwhile, I'm stuck with this AR (I already had a Ruger Mini-14 which basically has the same capability but doesn't look as mean or is as well known).

So, I advertised the AR in the paper for what I paid for it. Only had 1 guy ever call on it and he stopped over after we arranged a time. He was looking over the rifle and we were talking and he asked me why I wanted to sell it. I said because I have a Mini-14 and really didn't need 2 rifles that were basically the same.

"How much ammo do you have for these rifles?", he asks me.

Instant red flags went off in my head. Why would a guy who was interested in buying my rifle care how much ammo I had in the house? I didn't bite and said that the .223 round was a common cartridge and he could buy what he wanted at any gun store. That sort of shifted the conversation. I certainly didn't tell him how many 30-round mags I had for the Mini. He left and I never heard from him again. I may be a bit paranoid but I would have bet anyone that day a $20 steak that this guy was BATF checking me out. Pretty spooky...

She wanted to have sex instead for paying for your TV / VCR! Could have had your camcorder hooked up for the hook up! lol

Yes it is funny but the truth is that law enforcement uses CL all the time. There is no doubt in my mind that the lady wanted to get into Mr. Scrapple's apartment to have a look around hoping for evidence or some sort of lead/probable cause for a warrant.

well nothing wrong with that computer for some things..GRANTED it IS overpriced...should be about $40-50...but the processor is fine, you CAN put win7 on it if you want and upgrading the ram is DIRT FRIGGIN cheap...slap 8gb in that thing, win 7 and pick up a used LCD monitor...it is plenty of power for a business machine in an office.

I actually sold a TON of those machines (business grade, so nothing special) with no hard drive, montiro keyboad or mouse....so really just the computer, 2gb ram or so, motherboard etc for $9/each....I grabbed 101 total machines from a tech upgrade at a hosiptail(a few were nicer)...3 hours TOTAL work.....$1000. Just sayin....

That was kinda my point........I actually hauled 125 machines like that to Atlanta and got $12 each for them.......The guy paid me to haul them there to (He must have been desperate to fill an order because they were crap)..........Oh well I'll just keep my funny CL ads to myself

Don't know how often you all see something like this on the "free" site of CL but its's a first for me. If all of this is true, I hope this guy has his back covered...

To anyone looking at buying the blue Duramax from the kid in Hartford im giving a warning. He is known to be a thief. So buying anything from him is taking a risk. When buying on craigslist be careful. All kinds of thiefs around these small towns. To know if your buying from him you should prob remember the phone number for further posts. Good luck to who ever buys it. This kids facing many charges. And im sure is selling so his assets dont get froze. He was part in the spaders RV Thefts. As well as other thefts. Sheriff. If you go to this web site i posted it proves it. And as i go through craigslist i see a couple more post that im sure are him as well. One is for a 2000 Yamaha V Star 1100 and the other is 2009 Lincoln MKZ All Wheel Drive. Cant be 100% for sure. But looks like the same house all from Hartford and the Lincoln was posted just 7 days ago as well. And considering the title for both say rebuilt thats a red flag in its self. Both of them have been rebuilt?!?!?! NO CLEAN TITLE FOR ETHER! Phone # are different but im almost 100% sure same kid. Or family of the kid. But if you look at all three they all say will consider trades. I dont think its a coincidence. You keep flagging and i will just keep posting AJ. People should know you are a risk for people buying from you

Shows a pix of a pu with a big lift kit.
