TVS AND Computer monitors

Some people get paid by their yard for them. Tvs and monitors have a power cable, low-grade board, copper yolk and degaussing cable as well as the tinned copper wire around the end, etc. If you have a legal way to dispose of the tubes and some time and space, you can make a lot more than $2 each. Maybe these people are starting out, maybe other scrap is hard to find, maybe they are just trying to stay busy, who knows? All I know is that if my yard let me turn them in for 8 cents a lb like some folks have I would be banking...

Like ScrappinRed said, it just depends on circumstances. A few years ago, I would pay a couple dollars for a TV or monitor. Now, I charge $10 to take either. I don't need or want them and getting rid of the tube is a hassle. But money talks, so for $10 a piece I'll save up a pickup load and haul 30 miles to the certified disposal facility.

Lol, I love picking them up and I can get rid of the monitors at Goodwill after gutting them so they can be recycled but most days I am tv - 6, monitor - 1. I have no scrap yard that buys tv's by me so I do have to get rid of them but thats where most on my copper and boards come from and I also help fill my copper bearing bucket and aluminum bucket with them as well as the wire that comes from them.

If I have a full truck I will put them on the seat next to me or on the floor. I am of the mentality that I cannot pass up any scrap if it holds value even if it costs me money in the end. lol.
