7 cents a pound last weekend for me, not what I was hoping for...

Mine hasn't changed from 8 cents in quite a while here in Baltimore.

Tires on rims?!! Are they only buying alum rims with tires or steel?

I was last over there in December. They were buying steel rims with the tires still on them. I believe they had to be 16s and smaller. My recollection is $40 per GT, so less than 2 cents a pound, but your getting paid for the tire that you would have had to dispose of. I had a long discussion with the yard manager at the time. He was asking me questions about E-waste, specifically TVs since I had magnetic signs on my truck. He stated that they broke even on these and that by doing this, they got metal from people that normally wouldn't go to a scrap yard. This company's sister company has there own shredder located in Western New York and is in the process of installing 1 at the port of Albany and one in Newark NJ. Let's see if Matty can post the latest price sheet.

Still $245.00 net ton in Kalamazoo Michigan

I've been talking with my main yard in Massachusetts a lot lately concerning prices. The yard manager expects a call from his boss in the next few days. Expected drop is $30 to $40 a ton.

not for sure it may be this area cause the other yards have a little better at 6.5clb but travel is the thing but started a heavy and lite pile which is cool maybe come in handy even if I need some material but then found out batteries dropped to 21clb not horrid but I save them for awhile to sell what I can first so its cool and still money for not a lot of work and free mostly is why I love this business

Your gonna loose 10 to 20 bucks a ton in June. Welcome to the price drop party. No balloons or kazoos here though.

So did Omnisource sell off a mill? I know they still operate something like 20 locations around central Indiana.. they are advertising hard and heavy in the Indianapolis Radio Market right now.

Funny you guys bring this up, Omnisource just bought out a small time yard about 15 miles from me and say they will be opening up any time now. I have also been hearing a number of there ads on the radio in southern MI.

Let's just hope any of these reductions in price is just "the summer price drop"!

well again down to 4even but got a wonderful idea this weekend when getting some good computer finds. a buddy of mine has a nice 5th wheel 35ft flat bed which i wish i had lol so I have decided to do a labor day blowout and the save up heavy steel and what ever i have in electronics all summer and the week before since he loves a good road trip and and he does not care about gas just some fun so figured.
we make a road trip to ewasted stopping off where ever the highest steel price is along the way and have some fun on a road trip and make even better money. then for labor day we build a new fire pit and do a nice hog roast sweet corn from the garden and of course lots of beer lol maybe even get a blow up pool lol
