I seem to be getting more and more annoyed at thiefs posing as scrappers. Was at a yard this week and 2 guys come in pushing a shopping cart that was loaded. They unload heavy brass pipe, wires still hanging out of some of it. Had over 50 pounds of this. They had 2+" brass fittings and valves with steel attached. Also had a bunch of copper. Found out that they supposedly get this stuff from abandoned buildings. Also found out that at least one of them has been arrested for stealing once before. I think its time for all yards to start paying all transactions by check to make it a little more difficult for these people.
