A Day in the Life of SuperDave

I got a call from an old friend who used to install the old type satellite dishes. Said he had some various scrap, among other things an old trailer. He helped me load it on my flatbed with his tractor. It was stuck and hidden in tall grass. here is a pic

Thought it was this one when I got there

Notice the rear jacks. He would mount the 9' dishes in the trailer and use the jacks to level the dish to be able to fine tune before installing.

Anyway I could not stop thinking about this trailer so I gave him a call the next day and I told him I was interested in the trailer. We made a date so I could look at it closer. Got talking and I asked him what he needed for the trailer. He says 2, I go 2 hundred? he says yes. So I say well, let me give you at least 3 hundred. He said that is very kind and generous of you Dave.
In my mind at $300, it is still a steal. He had this trailer custom made a couple decades ago. The wood is a little ripe, so it needs paint and new sides/wood.

Also finally repaired and painted my dolly

Yes I like it too, but I sold it. Its too high and too heavy for my truck. My good friend's boss make me an offer on it, 3700 for the trailer with my 12k winch and one of my Bonnevilles for the derby. Could not pass it up. Will buy another trailer. I originally paid 1500 for that trailer and invested about 600 in it.
Told the buyer I needed it for another week, so I loaded my f150 with a cracked head onto her.

Finally had time to cut up that trailer frame from pic 1

Also scored some cats off it. What are these worth in your neck of the woods?

If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Looks clean, but deceiving. For some reason BAD on the other side. Badly rusted underneath too. Cracked head. Could not e test.

Oh and nice to have you back Jord!

That's the way to work a deal, and kicking in the extra $100 was a good thing. Like it when everyone is a winner!

    Yesterday's load

Those on the flatbed are metal pallets from motorcycles/snowmobiles. Also had 615 lbs of batteries from same location. Was a good haul.

SOLD the trailer before I get any more trouble from cops or ministry of transportation. We will see about another one. No rush.

I'm going to miss that trailer, the wife convinced me to sell.

Looks like I'm into another project. Got a call for an '02 Ram. Went to see it, the guy wants 800$, 110000 miles, bad tailgate, bad pass. door.
    Reg cab long box 2wd.

Started looking around for '02-05 rams, they are still worth a pretty penny. Found an '02 king cab short box 4x4, needs a motor (4.7 both) mint body.
That guy wants 1500, maybe I can get for 11-1200. So here I am with a 2000$ investment(potentially) plus having to swap engines, wondering if this is worthwhile?
Do I really want another project? Seems there is more work out there than I can shake a stick at.

I am going tonight to pick up the initial truck. It comes with an extra y-pipe with cat, extra rims and tires(not that hot)
also he is throwing in a winch operated hoist for 4 wheelers or lawn tractors and a brand new muffler in the box (hope it fits my truck). So if I don't buy the other truck I am still in not bad shape money wise....

The reg cab one the guy will sell for 700$ with all parts(just got the call)

Got screwed around on that deal. Truck was supposed to come with spare parts and tires, but buddy decided not to include them. I just walked away.

On another note, got my trailer completed and got the first load in.

Put the old wood sides on for now, scraped the moss off it. Fixed the lights . Attached toolbox.

NICE.. What type of paint did you use on it? I'm digging around for using either some brand of Farm Implement paint or POR15 which is tougher than nails! Mine needs a paint job once I get some time and figure out what color scheme I want!
