That's totally awesome.
Can't find anything on google that says you can't...even found a youtube video of one at the scrap yard.
Just make sure there's no money stuck in it anywhere. I'd be going over that puppy with a fine tooth comb.

You mean that? lol.
Let the video be above be a How Not to Scrap or obtain a ATM.
No it wasn't NA, this video was shot in San Diego.
Sirscrapalot - Youtube really does have it all!
I''ve been in the ATM business for many years now and have scrapped quite a few as they become obsolete or when they're damaged beyond repair from a robbery. Chances are, if you found it, it trashed and doesn't have any salvageable parts. There's a few high grade boards in it; especially inside the keypad. You might also find some stainless steel on the door and brass in the lock; other than that, you're looking at all shred. If there's money in it...well...let's hope you do the right thing.
Ummm, hellooooo!
Ever heard of dynamite?
As a former talk show host used to say "may the good Lord take a likin' to ya and blow ya up real soon"!
I just now saw the pic of the ATM. It's a Tidel IS 1000. An easy way to get in.....drill a 3/8" hole at the 3 o'clock position just to the right of the dial lock (imagine the dial being a clock and the drill point will be 1" to the right at 3 o'clock). Take a hole punch and a hammer and give it a few good licks. This will drive the bolt into the ATM and you'll be able to turn the handle. It takes about 5-10 minutes. When I would buy used ATMs, I'd sometimes have to do this if I didn't know the combo.

well...let's hope you do the right thing.
Keep it and never speak of it I'm assuming .
