The top of the heater is all copper and the fins on it is also copper

Here is part of the gas line that was connected to it
Here is some of the internal components, this is only a start of the tear down
Here is only a small portion of the break down
I am going to break everything down first thing tomorrow morning, on this thing I found out that it has a lot of small brass parts, it's not red brass, but yellow brass.
This is only the beginning of my break down, I know that there is a lot of small yellow brass parts and the rest of it is copper and sheet metal, I just hope I can get close to one hundred dollars, I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best.
Well you should me ok with that, I get much larger pool heaters here in south Florida every bobby has a large pool and larger heater than that. But it ain't that bad.
Wow, I would love to break down a large pool heater, see I like going after large loads of scrap metal, because I know that the pay off is really good.
Here some the items during my break down
Aluminum plates that was holding the copper coils
Here is the ticket
And here the other one
Here is the real kicker, there was no stainless what so ever that came out of the heater, most of it was copper and a handful of yellow brass, but anyway I was proven to my favor.
And they must have called those alum. plates "mixed" as they only paid .12 lb. instead of .50-60 lb.

Dear Sir, I never weighed any but we installed hundreds of them building pools down here. Like 1956 said there are many different sizes. The older ones were all metal and weighed anywhere from 150 to 200 pounds (empty), the newer ones have heavy duty plastic on the outside so you lose a lot of weight when you break them down. If they are still hooked up BE CAREFUL! most have propane or natural gas lines and the water pipes could be under pressure plus the power may still be "HOT". Good luck & Happy Scrappin! Meatez edit: sorry I didn't see the second page. I was responding to Sirscrapalot's post from a couple of days ago. Also I think the plates holding the copper pipes are stainless.

This is my latest. The end plates are non-mag stainless. And looky at that heavy copper! I think I will try punching out the pipes instead of cutting?
Help! Help me understand the little copper pipe lookin thingy threaded into the manifold? Thermostat? It shows in previous pics posted by xz. Nice work btw. Can't wait for the next!
