Pickerbenny-
Well, my family and I rolled into Erie around 10 PM that night and stayed only long enough to catch brunch at Wegmans the next morning before heading out again- not much time for sight-seeing! We stopped long enough for lunch on the way back, but wound up driving from Upstate NY back to Chicago in one day... I don't go by there very often, but if I ever have a reason to stop by, I'll let you know...

All-
Another addendum... I just got my invoice back from the CFCS folks and thought I would share my shipping data, since that seems to be of interest. I asked for a pre-paid label from CFCS for a 68 lb box that measured 21x18x14 inches (it may have been 20 inches on the longest side- I don't recall) to be sent from a 660xx zip code to their facility at 44146 and it cost $30.09. I dropped it off at the FedEx office downtown mid-day on Monday the 11th and it arrived in Ohio before noon on Wednesday the 13th- amazing!
So, total recoverable material: 65.52 lbs (a little more than I had thought) giving an actual packaging weight of 2.28 lbs for a grand total of 67.8 lbs. This calculates out to $0.443 per lb, which is getting a lot closer to some of the figures you all have quoted above. I'm sure I could've stuffed everything in a *slightly* smaller box if I had had one laying around (and had the patience to do it) but I don't think I could've shaved off more than an inch or two in any given dimension. This was a real mish-mash of server boards, mother boards, gold memory, server backplanes- not exactly the most densely pack-able stuff. Unless I send an entire box of something dense, like RAM sticks, I don't think I'm going to get shipping below $0.40 per lb- just a fact of life and geography.
So, to wrap it up, gross value was $249.72 at 67.8 lbs = $3.67 gross value per pound minus $0.443 shipping per pound leaves me a net value of $3.23 per pound. Therefore, shipping costs ran me about 12% of the total take. Good to keep in mind, I guess....
