    Christmas in July

Had 4 fake Christmas trees in with my steel load today! Not sure why I love adding them to the pile, must be the "green" thing!

Alright, 3 on a match! Got a 10 foot tree with the lights plus a big wad of outdoors lights yesterday just on the curb for garbage day.

As an aside, we have a local music store that used to do a lot of "Christmas in July" sales. The guy always dressed in a rabbit costume and would constantly say, "Hop! Hop!" So when I saw the thread title, the that's the first thing that came to my mind.

I've picked up a few of those from Curbco lately too. I seem to be the only scrapper that picks them up around here. Haha. Those along with office chairs. I've tossed like ten of those things in the shred pile a week. It's crazy.

So is the yard I go to the only one that doesn't accept Christmas trees?

Offices chairs, oh Lord! Wife was happy the first three I brought in, they were just the right height for her work desk, potting shed, and garage work table. The next 20 were not so well received. The new rule is "NO office chairs leave the back of the truck except at the scrapyard."

I like picking them up because they usually weigh a lot. Does your yard take them with the padding?

Office Chars are often overlooked same as trees. By me you need to breakdown the chairs some what (remove cushion), but thats a lot of steel and easy to break down...

Both of the yards I use take them with the cushion. Same with vacuum cleaners, just cut the cord and toss them in the shred pile. I try not to bring in more than a few at a time, I don't want to bring in too much fluff.

My normal yard wants some of the padding removed, but I have another yard where I take some of my more 'questionable' material. Pays less, but makes for easy disposal.

Why wouldnt a yard take fake trees? Lots more plastic on other items in the pile!

I got two trees a month ago, used the branches to deter the neighborhood cats from digging up and destroying/contaminating my veggie patches, saves me money on ammo (jk, but they're legally classified as vermin if they destroy the food crop, no joke). I love cats though, got a kitten at home myself, sweet little devil loves to sink her claws into my flesh. I got love scars.

Exactly, that was from the start no trees and now they tell me no vacuums. I hope they still want dishwashers
