    Stupid Craigslist

I answered an ad on CL for 10 towers, no hard drives, for free. Score! I call the guy and set up a time to meet. He makes me guarantee that I will be there. No problem, I always show. I get in the area, call and no answer. I get to the meeting place, call, no answer. I wait 10 minutes past the meeting time, call, no answer. Man do I hate wasting my time.

While it's possible something happened that legitimately kept the guy away, it's also equally possible he is a jack@$$ .... either way, sucks about the wasted time, not something that can be recovered. Hopefully he will call you asap with an apology, an explanation, and the items.

CL does seem to be an unpredictable toss-up. Sorry that happened to you, as Swampy said, hope he calls and makes right on his end of the deal.

I sell and search the free ads it's a 50/50 toss up some people are nuts and some people are not sometimes I get buyers who show up cash in hand and make sure the item works and they are gone with their purchase and sometimes I get people that show up to buy something and don't buy anything and want to talk my ear off about religion or Obama or god knows what else. All I can say is look for key words in there email like I was interested or I think such and such is cool or my friend had one of these. It's not a guarantee but if you can sort those weirdos out 8 times out of ten you have a legitimate sale.
