I'm over paying for my towers...

This is a good post, first you did the work, then ran the numbers, identified a problem and came up with a solution. That is how you get it done. You guys who have to buy in the major metropolitan areas have much smaller margins. Your hustle is a tough one because you have to compete with the big buyers who can operate with even smaller margins and those you tube yahoos who don't know what one is. The hardest part of business for me is talking money with customers, especially changing deals. Its always been one of my weaknesses.

I love to work at nothing all day" -BTO

I have made some good contacts through here, and I learn constantly. I work my butt off at my day job and there is not enough money to cover the bills so I got into scrapping copper wire from work. That lead to me finding this website and learning about e-waste. I will do WHATEVER I have to support my family. I learn more and more every day and I will keep on moving forward. Sorry if someone already said something like to this before...
since i was a kid i have always been told the only stupid question is the one you did not ask...or something like that....my point is i agree with what you posted above...i love this forum , but ive never understood the need to jump all over folks who ask questions...i dont see any benefit in trying to run off potential future members.... everyone has to start somewhere...no one knows everything out of the gate.....
i am not very good with computers and im sure there are folks that are less educated on them than i am.. until i started scraping ewaste all i could do on a pc was youtube and facebook...and my step daughter used to have to help me with those all the time....when someone asks a question that has been discussed before it does not bother me at all...heck maybe they do not know how to use the search feature yet...
my biggest problem in the beginning was, i could find tons of info on every subject i wanted to ask questions about...(sometimes to much it seemed) but i could not always find a post that exactly answered my specific question.....
this awesome forum has been created , with tons and tons of valuable knowledge free to the world. and id hate to think that a potential new member ( especially a younger scrapper just starting) discovered this place..only to read some posts and see that the last 5 people who asked questions got jumped all over for it and then decide to just pass the forum up and never join....

how do we know that this new member who asked a question is not going to take the answer given to them and use that to grow and become a better more profitable junk hauler who may someday grow to discover new ideas that we could learn and benefit from...this is just my 2 cents

Most posts like this are asking how much to pay, or asking if they are paying too much. You did the math, and shamelessly posted your mistake for others to learn from.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.
