Went to a garage sale today and found a 4 piece silver tea set for $8.00. My wife thought I was nuts for wanting to buy it so I passed it up. Should I go back and buy it?

and if you get it for cheap...shine hat puppy up and throw it up on CL/facebook yard sale groups and/or ebay...bet you get more than scrap value for it if in decent condition...

I also found a small 6 piece set of silver plated silverware. I'm going to clean it all up and post it on CL for a few weeks.

i buy old silver plated stuff all the time...i used to sell it to the junk yard for copper...now i get a little more than copper price per pound to a different guy...which works out great since he is interested in the silver content, i can also sell him the die cast stuff for good money.....of course i always check ebay first

Some people keep a stash of silver plated items as a decoy for would be thieves. If they stole that not as bad, as if they found your good stuff.
