    Sidewinder's "Scrap book" 2014

Took a small load of mixed shred to the scrapper today; didn't bring much, but it was in my way and paid for some drinks, etc.

Here's what it looks like for me:
    Pulling into the parking lot:

Random "Dually" Toyota pickup I saw. Was actually a nice little setup:

After weighing in* I was behind this guy in a 8th gen F-450 Superduty, and here's a pic of the yards' "Gas cage" that holds the Propane, Oxygen, etc:
    [IMG][/IMG]

Awesome little setup of the Super Duty:

One of the drop stations for aluminum sheet metal, servers, etc:

After dumping, here's how it looks on the way out:

I like that T&B actually takes the time to keep the lot relatively free of metal and glass so you don't have to worry too much about getting a flat tire. That lower end by the steel can get pretty muddy though. I've never gotten stuck, but I've had the mud come up 4 or 5 inches deep on my boots when I get out, :P

Broke down my first microwave and an old gold dot matrix Epson brand printer.

My back door looks like a mini scrapyard put into 5 gallon buckets.

Today I went and checked out a section of roadway I'd scoped out a couple days ago. Literally 1/2 a mile away from my house.

Walking about 1/4 mile from where I parked my truck, and the 1/4 mile back up to pick my truck up, I picked up a tote full of soda/beer cans and found a random electrical cord lying in the road (Copper score).

Took about 30 minutes for the whole endeavor; The only downside, is that I got stung 4-5 times by some frickin' yellowjackets.

Anyways...A penny found/penny earned or whatever.

Grab some tomato leaves off a plant and crush them, apply the juice to/around the sting. It neutralizes the poison in the sting and the swelling/pain will go away.

    Old family tip.

Today's take was an old HP printer (Found a ton of gold "Fingers" in it, and a high grade board), and an old service battery a buddy of mine gave me. He gets stuff through his place of work, and they tell him to toss it into the dumpster, so for me, it's GAME ON.

I'm gonna weigh the gold out in a bit and see how much it truly weighs.

The gold pins that fell out just buy flicking the board (Well, they're more like little TINY springs: Weighed out @2.2 grams.

No idea how much gold is in the board itself. So it's just gonna hang out in storage til I figure out what to do with it.

Is that your truck? A scrap truck? Just the light broken? Im confused on this post!!
I was in the backseat one time and my grandpa hit one. We were in a Chrysler 300. One of the legs came through the glass and was sticking through the window between the two front seat. Huge SMASH crash boom and the next thing you know this creature frantically stumbles up/off the hood and hops on 3 legs down into the woods. TOTALED the car and he hobbles off (im sure he died eventually... but still)

Yeah, that's my truck. It's my everything.

I scrap with it, I drive it to work when applicable, it gets me anywhere I need to go...

Has even played home to me once.

thanks. I've already gotten the parts tracked down. All new, about $150 (Me ordering and installing everything), but if one of the parts can be found locally cheap enough, that number drops about 1/2.

Yesterday I took in some stuff...

    40lbs of shred @ .08/lb
    9lbs of batteries @ .33/lb
    2lbs of #2 Copper @ $2.30/lb

    Everything came out to $10.97.

Not a "Load" by any means, but it paid for a nice dinner at a local chinese restaurant.
