Just got home, hospitals suck !

Just got home from the hospital.
went in last Tuesday and started to check out at 8 this evening I live 35 miles away and it is now 12:02 how efficient. Lots of posts to catch up on. Great to be home again.

Last Thursday I decided I felt good enough to go out and tear down my last couple of servers, big old HPs and IBMs they were the last the load from my military contractor so being in a titanium Fariday case they were about 300 lbs got one done and started to hump the other one in position. Next thing I remember I was curled up on the ground . There was the most fearsome pain in my left thigh since a 7.39 broke my right leg about 50 years ago. I first thought I had dropped the server and broke my leg.

My yard is about 50 yards from the house with lots of privacy fence so with computer games and such the kids couldn't hear me yell so I crawled to the front porch about 100 yards when you go around the fences, with tears streaming down my face. ( Yep tough guys do cry) or so I found out. The family called the ambulance.

When they got there I told them I broke my leg so, off to the hospital. Waited for hours in one of those cold a** examining rooms and of course they gave me 2 aspirin for the pain

Long story short no broken leg. After 2 days they discovered I had a blood clot in my left calf, called phlebitis or something like that. So 5 days in that prison filling me full of what ever, here I am home again. No worries I feel fine now they were able to dissolve the clot and ad 3 more pills to my grocery sack full I'm supposed to take now.

I will catch up on my PMs and emails in the next couple of days.

That is rough man. I hope you didn't OD on TWO whole aspirin!! Take it easy with those blood clots though, I didn't know they caused so much pain. Hope you recover quickly and scrap on.

Glad to hear ya doing better Olddude, been wondering where you been! Shoulda known only a injury would you keep you quiet so long.

An I hear ya on the aspirin. When i caught a cigerette to the eye back in 05' the triage er nurse handed me a ice pack. Not even a freaking advil! Let me tell you a freshly lit cig burns very hot. Getting one kicked into your eye hurts like the ****ens. Being handed an ice pack an made to sit for 3 hours in a bright lit er is about as much fun as stabbing yourself with a icepick. On the bright side when I did get to see the Doc, he was pissed about the nurse an chewed her out so loud I could hear him in my room with the door closed..lol.r

Sorry for the side story. Glad your back with us! An look forward to your take on recent posts as always.

I fell last Thursday myself, wet steps. Luckly no broken bones but major bruising and I think some internal tissue damage. I had to yell for the wife to come help me. I didn't go to the doctors myself because I didn't think there was any good reason to. After reading your post I might have gone to the hospital. I'm getting better but it takes time. I suggest you take it easy for awhile I know I am being forced to. Not to mention according to my wife it was entirely my fault the steps were wet.

I'm glad you have gotten past the blood clot situation which can be very dangerous. Best to you, Mike

Wow, glad you are doing better. Hope you don't see any more of those nasty clots. Doesn't sound like a good time at all.
