I'll be right there to get th... and its gone, lol.

Had a contact call and let me know he had pulled some engine blocks, radiators, catalytic converters and other metal to the curb, and was getting ready to leave home and to come and get it... I mentioned that if he had anything to get rid of I would help him remove it from his property. I have already been in the garage and saw the items, he just wanted to wait a few days before working on it.

Great, its on the curb on trash night, got to make this quick!
It took me 3 minutes from the time I hung up the phone, to arrive at his garage... and two guys in a pickup truck were loading up the last few pieces in their truck...

Called the contact back and informed him some other people were picking up the items. I did thank him for the call and opportunity, and told him if he found anything else to call me and I will come pick it up for him.

He felt so bad about it, he's a good ole' boy. I told him not to sweat it, wasnt meant for me to have, no biggie. Curbco made up for it, three giant tv's on my block (aluminum degaussing ). Then on a short drive got a few bags of cans, (I only take bagged cans on the ground, I don't take out of city marked recycle bins) and a untouched fridge with the power chord still on (which is unheard of with all the chord cutters and tv busting peeps around here). Oh and a old style computer monitor. Good night after all, not as good of a pay out as it could have been, but that's the game.

I've had a couple clients call and say "I'll just leave it at the curb for you" trying to avoid making an appointment style meeting. I always politely ask them to leave it in front of their garage instead and explain to them that once its at the curb it's city property (I don't even mention someone else getting it unless I have to). This shows them that I have respect for the law and want to play by the rules.
