Thanks for sharing that ,copper is 80% of what I scrap , I give my lead to local fisher men .I might just hold on to it for a while and watch what happens thanks.
Since copper is a main component of brass, I imagine brass will follow suit and not perform very will.
I don't know if I buy what they say... Although with the Idiot in Chief closing all the lead smelting plants in the country, I could see lead taking off. Will stop treating it so poorly and start paying attention to it. Now how about the other metals they said... Zinc and Nickel... Any major easy scrap sources that contain those two??
Current U.S. pennies are 97.5% zinc but you can't melt them down legally (hahahahaha). One reason the gov went away from Cu back in 1982 because 95% Cu pennies were more valuable as scrap than the face value of the money. They went to zinc to come out ahead. Maybe they'll start losing money on zinc pennies. What's next, plastic tiddle winks (maybe not far off with the CANs going to plastic $20 bills instead of fabric...).
The point to really understand is investors are catching on to what we knew already
when Lead went from .30 to .60 and or a yard guy tells you last USA smelter is closed down . It's time to react
I did not . sure I saved some more Lead but in the real picture what is it now I have 500 pounds compared to 80 .
Many of us ( me ) think small picture when the big picture is with us each day we visit a yard .
Don't concern over copper Brass you still have a seller.
What can I say - I knew it , I knew it - I said it way back I am saving more lead
I saw an up coming value increase as many others .
and that really meant buy futures in Lead But here I am with 500 pounds of Lead instead of 80 that my friends is small thinking .----------
A wile back a thief took all my pewter I was saving , That druggie knew about commodity's
I should of took the hint. A lesson from all situations in life .
----------
Zinc - Save it don't sell yet .
Zinc is all over the place , easy to find,
most zinc we can find is called a Zinc alloy but for all purposes yards will buy as Zinc if you push for it.
Non magnetic and the yards wont buy as AL . Zinc is around .24 .26 but I could be off as I don't really sell it often,
if you have 500 pounds of Zinc alloy's yards will take notice other wise they just want to buy as Dirty AL
Well what about Zinc how about I go from 200 to a 1000 pounds . Or ............ .
How about Zinc Futures

Well.... Over on the Kitco board (where I found out about you guys), there are those who stack nickles. As I remember, nickle are worth 6.5 cents, so, you can buy an item for 5 cents that is worth 30% more than you pay for it... Does that qualify as a good source of "scrap"? I know some guys over there stack brick after brick of nickles.
I save some Nickels but really as a future seller for Ebay
When I go for walks I keep an eye out for wheel weights, along with other metals, many of the new weights I pick up are Zinc. Eventually I want to find a source for more, I have friends who are mechanics, but for now I live in an apartment and don't have room for it. If you can find a good source for wheel weights then you'll have Lead, Zinc, and Iron, and they're dense too the weight adds up quick.
