For all you new scrappers its not all about copper!

I like the three c's computers,cell phones,cable boxes . Almost everyone has at least 3 of them laying around or in a drawer not being used . They also are a easy buy at auctions and flea markets . Try it out ask 3 people tom how many cell phones they have in their home not being used .

When you go to the yard, try and find someone with a truck that deals with metal and if it happens that they also travel in your area you can exchange phone numbers. I scrap out of my car and on a rare occassion I will find something that I can't make fit in my car. I have 2 contacts that live in the area I can call and we split the proceeds. I don't get what I otherwise would had I brought it myself but, if nothing else, I make a few bucks for having made a phone call.

I don't have any friends where I live now, they're on the other side of the state, so nobody to share garage space with. As for leaving it out, the dumpsters at my apartment are fenced off from public. So, if I left it out nobody could get it anyway. If I leave it outside the fence, then there's no guarantee that it will be picked up quickly, and won't just be an eyesore for days until a scrapper grabs it. It bugs me too, every time I throw any type of metal away. I will be moving next year, but until then I don't see a solution. Also, my only vehicle is a shared suv with the fiance, so I can't just let it pile up in there. Believe me when I say it bothers me. I'll bend over to pick up a penny in the street, but I'm throwing money in the garbage right now.
