NOW, that being said, I DO handle all my stuff in the correct manner. I don't send stuff to the dump etc...I pull anything that is feasible, HOWEVER, it is just as economically feasible for me to send say a printer skeleton with metal AND plastic to my scrap yard...they will grind it up and use a eddy current separator or similar to separate plastic from metal etc....I am not going to spend that extra time when that is what they are doing anyways.

I don't need a certification to be"official"....YES I know you are a much larger operation 1956, and kudos if you have the $$$ and the patience to put up with that level of BS. I will police my downstream to an extent, but not to the extent they are asking..it would take an ENORMOUS amount of time and energy and I am here to make money, not follow where the plastic or whatever ended up...that is for the govt agencies to do with those larger processors. They have to justify their jobs somehow. LOL

Anyways, the only way I would ever do something like this is a ROI situation...and it would have to be a REALLY good ROI, not just kinda good. I have plenty of consumer stuff I can get vs military or big box (heck no one here could compete with the REALLY large well funded boys at the top of the chain that your stuff ends up with anyways for those contracts). Oh, and I ALREADY have hospital contracts and other businesses....and I am just getting started in that market.

I have NEVER ever been a proponent of "certs"...they just are their to make your life harder and make you spend money. You can do 80-90% of the stuff they want without the 10-20% BS they require because they are the same as any other govt agency...bloated and designed to make it impossible to run a really profitable business. IMO of course.

Good luck with it....I will just keep finding the bigger boys that will accept the weird stuff and make headways into those markets (like paper, plastic, clothing, drywall or any number of other things out there) and leave the certs.
Nice post.......things get done so much more efficient without RED TAPE
