    PLEASE.... Be careful.

Hey all.... I can't tell you who I work for but I'm in the LE/Intel community...(nothing glamorous but still) the story about the beheading in Oklahoma this morning marks a disturbing trend that is going
to be a part of our country until we stop it. This coincides with another shooting a month ago where a random 19 year old white male was shot and killed in NJ in retaliation for the US military campaign against ISIS.
Both of these scumbag murders were converts to Islam.

We as scrappers are out there by ourselves and often run into strangers. Just keep your head on a swivel, extend the olive branch of peace but have a tactical plan to kill anyone who tries to hurt you or your family. I know a lot of you carry and I HIGHLY recommend you continue to. Educate your families and don't take it lightly. Its not going to stop until WE the people stop IT. The woman in Okalahoma was a front desk secretary... she went to work and was beheaded by a monster. FBI probing suspect's recent conversion to Islam in Oklahoma beheading | Fox News

In the mean time I hope you all make big scores this week and stay safe. OH.. and on a happy side, I'm residing my house tomorrow and get all the aluminum siding scrap for ME!!! Oh and go Eagles!!

My odds of survival are better without holes in my feet.

Many Muslims in America are afraid to be openly Islamic. Violent fringe groups and lunatics represent Islam like the Westboro Baptist Church represents Christianity.

Please don't point out the fact that Christianity has it's own dark side, it'll just be ignored Charn. Easier to hate that which we don't understand. I won't point out, getting everyone to hate Islam is exactly what groups like AQ, ISIS and the other radicals want you to do so as to help their so called Holy War. Let's forget the Crusades, so called Witch Burnings, an other things done in the name of Christianity, Catholicism, etc.

Let's also forget that the majority who follow Islam don't believe in all this violence, an don't want anything to do with AQ, ISIS, Shirra(how ever you spell it) law, etc. It's easier to hate them, when we leave out such logic. Let's also not mention how many so called Christians, an Catholics approved an participated in slavery. An the silly fact that, that guy who killed 77 teenagers in Norway did it to protect his Christian church an Norway from Islam. Cause you know..kill 77 kids is going to do that. Oh an the shooter at Sandy hook? He was Roman Catholic.

You know, lets just do away with that whole "Freedom of Religion" thing. /End Sarcasm

Oh an for the record I'm far from Muslim. I like my pork, beer, an the like for all that jazz. I just truly believe each man is entitled to his own beliefs. You want to worship a brick, good with me. Long as your not out committing a bunch of senseless violence, I don't care who you believe in. That's the beauty of Freedom Of Religion.

Now a days you have to be careful, no telling who you are dealing with and what they have done, I would rather carry a gun with me to protect myself and my family, I am the kind of guy, that if someone wants to harm me and my family, I will not hesitate to take him out of the equation, I am prior military so everyone knows that you are trained to kill, me personally, I have never killed a person in my life, but if someone pushes me to an extent, I will fight back and put an end to it.
senseless killings is really absurd, these radicals killing people in the name of Islam, why won't they say what they really mean, I am all about being careful when I am by myself, I value life as the most valuable thing on this earth, I love people and love seeing people interact with each other, but when you have a group that wants to take that away from you, then it is about time to rally the troops and go after them and end it one way or the other.

Let's make sure this thread doesn't become a topic or debate about religion.

But really, these guys are going to meet a lot of die hard Americans if they keep it up. We are not pushovers. We will stand up and fight back.

We will fight to defend our homes, families, friends, and fellow countrymen and women against these lunatics. Wasn't very long after this wackjob beheaded this innocent woman that he was gunned down by a vigilant citizen. I believe it was an ex sheriff who was carrying at the time. I hope that helps paint some clear expectations for anybody else considering trying it.

As far as carrying a gun - The only time my gun isn't on my hip, is when I'm sleeping or at some kind of special event like visiting an area inside a school zone or a state building.

I fully support the second amendment and think that all sane, responsible Americans should at least consider owning a gun to protect themselves, their families and their communities. And especially during these unfortunate times of war, to protect our country and our peers against foreign barbarians and their followers who want to cut the heads off of innocent men, women and children where we live.

A beheading just happened on our soil with credit going to an ISIS follower/converter, it will probably happen again. Those ***holes are probably jumping for joy over it with all this media coverage.

If you carry a weapon and know how to use it, the chances of you being a victim of violence is slimmer. The chances of an innocent peer in your presence being the victim of violence is also slimmer. An armed society is a polite society.

My advice, buy your guns and ammo now before it all sells out, prices will go up and people will start stockpiling it if these events continue. Guns and ammo might flat-out become hard to get at all.

I honestly can't discern one person of true faith from another. There's a certain light that shines from within. All the rest ... their religion, their heritage, their gender, etc .... it's all just window dressing. You have nothing to fear from these people. Their minds are more about the spiritual realm. The cares and concerns of THIS world are far less important to them. If they choose to get involved it's only to alleviate some of the suffering ... certainly not promote it.

Interesting that the article cites RECENT converts to Islam. This story is as old as mankind. Crackpots and power mongers have been using religion as a beard to justify the horrible things they do for thousands of years.

    Let's keep it in perspective:

There are over three hundred million people in this country. A fairly small percentage " Go Postal " every year. When they do it makes interesting news copy.

A few cases here and there doesn't mean that it represents a widespread systemic problem.

Over reacting to one incident got us into a protracted war and multiplied our adversaries a million fold worldwide. I would hope that we would have the wisdom to choose our battles a little more carefully in the future.

Scrappah- where's your general location if I may ask (a region of the US or an outside country would suffice for me). I'm a geographer and locations help put things in context for me.

Certainly not my intention to start "that kind of discussion" I'm pretty sure we've reached a paradigm shift here in our country. Not Norway....not anywhere else but OUR country. Imagine sending your daughter or wife to work only to learn that she had her head cut off by a monster. Imagine one of us on here out on a scrap run only to run into a monster intent on cutting our head off. They "the monsters" are here and a lot of people wander day to day with no clue as to what is out there trying to get them. Just want ya'll to be safe.

And this is why I wish we could carry in Canada. ISIS supposedly has Canada on its list of places to hit. But I can't carry any weapons with me anywhere, unless I'm in the woods hunting...

I live in Minneapolis. All my life I have been the type of person to leave my car unlocked most days, I drop my change off with the man on the corner (if I have any) or a sandwich sometimes, I have left my house wide open on 100+ occasions and gone to the store/workout/scrap, and in general I trust human nature far too much. I don't have much to steal and don't wear jewelry aside from my wedding band. Haven't been in a real fight since high school. For me, the thought of possessing something on me that I could KILL a person with the squeeze of my hand scares ME more than I think it would scare anyone else. I think this last paragraph also just described why I work so well in the hospitality industry (LOVE my job =P). Never been robbed, assaulted, threatened, etc

I agree with what Scrappah said about keeping it in perspective. It was made public that multiple Islam converts have left to fight for ISIS from minneapolis, but the population in Minneapolis alone is 400,000.

Do whatever you have to do to stay safe! But for me that just means keeping a smile on and being kind.

Im a little more scared of being struck by a random lighting bolt, or getting into a car accident, having my plane crash, etc.. rather than encountering that 1 Looney that is possibly running around on the streets

Weren't all you guys listening to the story?! The host said they have no idea if his recent conversion to islam had anything to do with the fact he cut off the head of a person. It was probably just a suicide gone bad, and he just missed his own neck.

Maybe it would be a good idea to outlaw carrying knives... That way, the muzzies would have to use sporks to cut of heads.

I'm Downeast Maine on an island just off the coast. I've always been a Mainer by culture but i was raised in a semi rough town bordering on Boston. Didn't "move home" till i was in my mid 20's.

Ummm .... two very different worlds.

Back when i was working in the city i used to work a lot of midnight shifts driving taxi, 24 hr convenience stores, or 24 hr gas stations. I don't recall running into any situations i couldn't handle but i can certainly understand why folks living in the urban jungle might become hyper vigilant.
