    Been having a great week

Last Sunday, picked up two BBQ's, one stainless and one steel, plus a clothes iron and some tomato cages from my grandparents. Then on the way to my girlfriends, picked up some miscellaneous scrap, plus a clock and a couple phones. Then today, got some more scrap, plus some wire on the way home from work. Then my girlfriend dropped off some scrap and a car battery charger, and a couple other things, and told me she'll probably have more stuff for me tomorrow. And to top it off I have a pick up for a washer tomorrow! And my Dad has been bringing home scrap aluminum for me all week. Not bad for just doing this in my spare time between school sports and every thing else I'm in!

Hey Dopen, why are you pssing on the kid's parade? Maybe not everybody's doing it full time or however intense you do it. I consider LHB sort of my "god son" because I talked about the little scrapping I do over on a trapping forum we're both members of and he sort of took off from there. Some of us aren't professionals and do some scrapping for the thrill of the hunt or find it interesting taking something apart. Making money from it for some is just a hobby. But we have just as much right to post on here as you do. Unless there's some sort of rule only big time scorers can post and hobbyists can't. Maybe one of the mods can tell me if that's true...

P.S. LHB- What is in that avatar pix of yours? When I first see it a badger's head hanging down first comes to mind but I know you don't have those critters in NB and this is a scrapping forum so if must be something with metal.

I haven't had time to test it yet, had church this morning, then race this afternoon and just got home.

Yeah I do trap, not a whole lot, gotta try and squeeze it in between school hunting and basketball. Not a whole lot of spare time in between everything. Not even sure if I'll get out much this year, probably just going after rats and maybe some squirrels

    Dakota and LHB,

This is coming from a guy puts a water heater in a Honda Civic and then when he catches hell for it, stands in front of someone else's loaded pickup, trying to tell us that he only uses the rice burner for loads under 1000 pounds. I don't know about you, but I don't believe it. Bet you he is just a newbie scraper that is trying to impress everyone.

I don't mind some good natured joke making but then sort of make it sure that people know its a joke when you post it. I have problem with DS if LHB is cool with it. Dopen, I wish you well. Just hope I don't read about a central jersey guy skewed by scrap in a little car!

It just keeps on coming. Went tonight to pick up a washer, and ended up leaving with a truck load of stove pipe, 20-30 fluorescent light fixtures, stove pipe, tomato cages, misc scrap metals, and of course the washer! Was planning a load on Saturday, but I think I'm going to wait until I have this stuff processed to make sure its worth the drive. I live out in the boonies, no yard around, so gotta make big loads.

So far almost all my money I've made from scrapping working reselling etc has gone into the bank, about the only thing I buy is guns and shells. Still have a good bit saved up for university or college, not sure where yet.

I stripped all the wire out of the light fixtures, was a nice little pile. Do most scrap yards have a section called ballasts or are they called something else?

Most yards take ballasts. Good amount of copper in them. Nice work.
