Aren't they worth more if you sell them whole ?
no, the sum is never greater than the whole of the parts. This is the scrap game.
i know, i was joking...(again)...
idk what would a super mario bros 1 nintendo game sell for nowadays?

Quite a bit if it was working. Poor Metal, he's likely a little sadder now when he see's this thread.
Fun fact:
Any Super Mario Bros. game is worth more then scrap.
An the same for a lot of other 80s games. If your not sure do a google search an see the popular games you know to look for. Maybe Metal will chime in with a selection of titles so you folks don't destroying them all willy nilly.
At the end of the day tho, if your happy...dun matter what nobody else thinks.

well this was educational
Aw well you just wanted to see your pic up in lights,,,
every game scrapped makes the rest worth more
There is some truth to that , if it was the copy that came with the original nintendo it was worth about $5 . The board in your hand prob weighs about 4 ounces so you def lost money unless the game would not function . People still seek broken cartridges thou for donors for games that work but have ripped or destroyed labels .
The super mario/duck hunt still is bought a lot thou as people who resell the systems like to include the original came that was included . So the buyer has a game to play with their initial investment
Buying ewaste and video games !
Oh man...:::headdesk::
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you at least CHECK Ebay BEFORE tearing apart old stuff guys...someone SOMEWHERE generally collects stuff like this and if functioning, are always worth more...hell EVEN BROKEN things for PARTS can be worth a TON....I know, I sell stuff on there ALL the time for parts and make FAR more money than scrapping...
Read the old thread voraciously and absorb the knowledge given freely here...and if nothing else...ASK before tearing something apart...someone on here will know 99.9% of the time....
well chalk it up to "lesson learned"....now don't do it again....
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell
Ha ha! Memories brought back.
The final fantasy series is one of the most popular video games ever.
I need to go pull out my SNES now.
Sirscrapalot - Going old school.
Most vintage video games will sell on eBay, especially any first party nintendo games(Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc) and RPGs(Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei, etc). I just sold a Super Mario All Stars cartridge on ebay for $13.00 and I have a Mario Cart game for the GameCube going for $11 and change, and its only the disc. Video games usually sell well.
I know I love my old vintage games! I have emulators for all of the old systems installed on my computer and a few on my phone.
Maybe the non-working games are worth pulling the fingerboards out of but **** man...check eBay, craigslist or even a local mom n' pop game store!

I don't scrap games...unless they don't work after I've cleaned the contacts or they've seen a ton of water damage.
Seriously...save those buggers, find or borrow a working console, test them, or set the kid down in front of it, borrow a niece or nephew if you need to...let them test those puppies out.
I like to stick them on Ebay in lots a couple months before Christmas.
I love finding games almost as much as I like finding a box of legos.
