Geez... never get freebies like that around here!
Sledge-- wishin he was in D.C. on vacation
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
That's like posting free firewood tree is out back needs cut down.
That will take some big equipment to move as it's quite heavy. Big truck and a big lift.
I worked once at a shop that had a similar sized one delivered. It was moved by using the forklift as a motor to Maneuver it on large machine moving casters.
If you can move it with what you have it only worth a few hundred in scrap.
Eric
Oof.. So that is like the "Free Mobile Home" ads on CL
Tons of Work
Tons of Garbage (non-scrappable stuff)
Little Return for Effort?
Good to know. I probably would have jumped on it and gotten myself into a MESS if it were a Freebie around here!
CNC---might have any where from a dozen boards to a couple of boards in it, depending on the age of the electronics. And some motors and lots of wiring.
But, yeah: bl**dy heavy.
Jon.
That's something I would definitely go for it in the DC area. I've done similar jobs to this. Moved them in the building with a pallet jack and had a friend with a flat bed (tow truck) get it from the loading dock and then place on my trailer.
That is NOT like a cut my tree down ad! If I was with in 100 miles of dc I would be all over that one as it has much more value then scrap. I would pay for that machine. True machines are hard to move around if do not have the proper equipment. Most probably the shop that has this machine has means to move it around anyway.
I think if you could move it outside via a pallet jack or their forklift, then two guys could knock that thing down into manageable sizes pretty quick. Looks like a machine shop so there may be other scrap as well.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....
