Exclamation Know What It Is Before You Destroy It

So many folks see a computer, or computer parts laying around, and what is their first reaction? DESTROY IT !!!

You may or may not be one of those folks, but it would be worth your time to know what you have before you destroy it.

THIS sold for over $900,000 USD
Stuff like THIS and THIS can go for several hundred to several thousand dollars !
There are many CPUs that are worth far more than scrap value !
What would be your first reaction to THIS ?
Would you even bother to look THIS up ?

That's some interesting stuff. When I run across something that looks odd or different from what I normally scrap, I'll put it aside and look it up later on.

One of my first eWaste hauls got me a Seagate tape drive. I didn’t think much of it but I had never seen one in person and up close so I put it aside. Looked it up on eBay and it could get me between $15 and $20. Definitely going in the rainy day eBay pile!

This is the valuable thread of the month for me. I never even contemplated swlling P2 cartidges. I even see some are selling as boxes. Wow! I have a dozen P2 boxes in my pile that I will test and try on ebay.

As far as tape drives, I've given up there. Tried several. Sold one untested for $20 or so. Many just haven't gotten any bites.
