Nice. You recently posted a pic of a piece of metal that was painted red. Is it in the trailer also?

    922?

You must have one of those magic yards that weighs to the lb! Round these parts.. "we gonna gets either 920 if we don't hold our breath and 940 if we do- and the wind blows at just the right time on the scale!"

Lol! I wondered why our scale bounces like that, its catching the weight between breathing in or out!! lmao.

Rather than trying to get the most weight, you should try to get the most money. We're here to help you and you really need to read some of the past posts about how to separate what you have.

You are going to get 5 to 5.5 cents per lb for that load. I'm seeing aluminum cans and sheet aluminum that would bring 50 to 60 cents if separated. I see steel that would bring 12 cents, a motor that would bring 22 cents, a faucet that is possibly brass would be $1.70 per lb. and then there's that red motor cast buried in there that would bring 12 cents. I think you are screwing yourself out of $40 or more by not separating.

You did a good job of getting a trailer full. Now we want to see you get the most money from it.
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....

Well at the very least tell the yard you have a big piece of motor cast in there. When at the yard unload all the shred except the motor and then run over the scale again and sell it separate. You'll gain an extra $25.

Aluminum cans aren't even the 1/100th of this. I don't recycle aluminum cans, yet I still sort every
Thing down to the base. You could do probably double your money by sorting that load, what it sounds
Like is you pick up tons of stuff and turn it all for shred. You could break it all down and make good $.
Even if your on a squeeze for time you could at least cut chords, smash out the motors, and rip out the screen
Of that screen and get some metal worth more than 5-11 cents / lb. good luck

Separate items by metal. When done at the yard add up all the different weights you may still have a ton. And you will have a "ton" more money this way!

    understand this:

u have done lots of hard work in order to gather that much metal
now, just spend some time going thru everything & separate the steel & other metals from the shred

why not remove any steel & aluminium etc that can be easily seperated from the shred?
u will make more money if u do that.

after all, scrapping is not just about getting as much stuff as u can
its about getting as much money as u can for the stuff u get

even with a little plastic, its good to sort things out. Buy a magnet key chain and check every bit.. nothing sticks, aluminum or copper. scratch the metal to see the color. I would have put an aluminum door in a shred but instead i turned it in seperate.. would have gotten $2.00 if in shred but got $8.00 instead.. $6.00 is a meal at smack donalds! Lol, but yes seperate!! Cheers on the load though. looks like a good one!
