A day in the life of a scrapper... Literally

I have been reading a lot on the forums lately and hear about all the big projects people work on, the great scores and all of that but how about an average day? Just post what one of your average working days is like even if you are a part time scrapper, or full time. Would be cool to hear how different scrappers manage their time.


My average day of scrapping when I'm not in school...

Go to my garage where I process all my loads that I accumulate all week

Sort into shred/ breakdown/ already broken down

Take apart all the electronics, other stuff that needs dismantled (most of day)

Sort into bins

Strip wire

Clean up

Would be cool to hear how different scrappers manage their time.

Drink beer

Generally my normal week being a 16 year old high school student.
Week:
School 7-3 get home
l get home eat and start sorting my garage, taking apart things, loading the truck for a run, ect. till about 9
Then I sleep and repeat

Weekends
I wake up go to the auction if there is no auction I repeat the week days process
Or get home form the auction unload and keep on going

Being that Im in high school I work about 10-20 hours a week on scrap

Fixed that for you.

I own a computer sales/service shop. Most of my day is spent fixing and repairing computers. I scrap on the slower days, mostly.

For me, scrapping is a last resort. While taking apart machines for recycling, I set aside and keep the good parts. The old/junk parts go into bins for sorting, and the potentially useful parts are tested.

Scrap value is the lowest that I'll take for anything. I'd rather use the parts or resell them. It pays better.

Go to wurk. Lol.
Now I'm huntin.
Drink beer. Recycle empties. Repeat.
The scrap will be there tomorrow.

Stay in school. Be cool.
