Latest yard trip WOW...

Went and brought my non ferrous in today, was shocked at the price of aluminum. Clean aluminum extrusion #0.93!!!! Never seen it that high. Apparently they say its all thanks to Ford and their all new aluminum f150s.



Heres the ticket I got. Nice pay day.

Went to the core buyer yesterday
Harness: .75/lb
Clean #2 Copper wire .75/lb
Communication wire .25/lb
Brass $1.25
Sheet Alum (Like your siding) .45/lb

Brass is about the same here. $1.50/lb
You're way low on #2 though. I'd still get over $2/lb for it here. Hoping for better prices your way! What are you getting fo cars? Im at 160/ton but bossman gets preferred pricing cause of the shop at 180/ton.

I ran one to the yard yesterday- took the far away yard because they were paying $180. 2 other yards are at $160 and one is at $170.

Had to take the $180 run because I was REALLY tight on the car.

Iv only been buying cars i get get for $250 or less. Trucks i max out at 300. I dont like being tight on cars and with shred prices being unpredictable this time of year, iv been holding off on alot of cars id normally jump all over. Might reconsider some cars with aluminum rims though with how high aluminum is right now.

You always had to be careful about which date they were referring to, especially for dates in the middle of the year.

The one I ran in yesterday I bought for $300 because it ran and drove. Had a potential Cash and Clunker Swap on it, when I started it up again to put it on the trailer- it ran like someone had dumped sugar in the tank. So I had to cancel the deal


So on the body yesterday. I made $299. Which is not what I shoot for- I always want to make a little profit on the body.. but the alternative was getting about $260 (3320 lbs across scale) so that was why I HAD to run the thing another 20 miles further than my normal yard.

I was worried I wouldn't clear profit on this one.. and with steel being where it is- if I had known it was going to crap out the offer would have been $200- not $300. So I really lucked out making a little profit off the car.
But I am in your camp- not buying cars at all really- if I can't turn profit on them.. I let em go!

Its not lol under the numbers its marked DD/MM/YYYY so 06/12/2014 i guess as the others say its the other way round down in the US.

Stinks.. but it is what it is!

All my recent cars i payed $200 and one was $225. May get an f150 for 300, only payin 300 cause its my buddys dads truck.

That white olds i got im trying to part out but nobody needs parts. Its goin next. Its a shame cause the bodys mint. That 88 chrysler im not scrappng. Its in great shape and i dont have the heart to scrap it lol

Trucks going away for the winter soon so im really trying to get one more before she goes to bed, no luck. Plenty out there but nobody returns emails or calls.
