yeah 180 per ton sucks.U could still buy them and hold them if you had a place to do that at.I dont or i would lol
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
I dont have the space to hold em, and iv only got enough cash flow to hold maybe two or three cars long term, besides I dont really like over paying and hoping the market jumps up. I gamble sometimes but have been burned so im cautious now. Holding two currently, only cause one im sellin parts and one im selling whole. If i was at 210/ton id have spent 3-325 on the caravan. Blazer maybe 350-375, 400 with aluminum rims.
Shred being down really sucks, everyone says "just lower your prices, leave your magins the same" well that dont always work with the general public when it comes to cars. They dont understand or care. Everyone wasnts as much as they can get and thinks their stuffs worth more than it is. I know im preachin here, we've all heard and said the same thing lol
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

yeah i understand.I got a call today and i went from $215 to now i am at $225
Yes 120 a metric ton in Ottawa...but don't forget you are getting .08 cents a pound for TV/monitors crt's.
225 per ton for cars!
i called in for a buddy today that has een cutting up a semi truck into 3ft sections.Which is short iron i can get him $225 per ton for that also.
Is anyone else around the country seeing aluminum prices that high? I have like 400 pounds of Alum Extrusion that I am bringing in soon... but if others are seeing that price jump im definitely going to hold it until ours goes up
Everyone would be correct in that statement. I hear what your saying tho, you have to be competitive so you can get the cars but can't afford to overpay. But always remember why your buying the cars, to make $$$. So if it doesn't make dollars it don't make sense. I've let many cars go over 25-50$, because if I can't buy right, I don't buy.
People will come off their high horse on prices, I've got 7 cars bought this year that run or get running cheap for 300$ and under.
Better to have a empty trailer than an empty wallet- sir scrapalot
