People will come off their high horse on prices, I've got 7 cars bought this year that run or get running cheap for 300$ and under.

Truer words were never spoken. I've said the same thing numerous times. No sense in being able to say "Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah.. I got one on the trailer" When in your mind you are secretly saying "Whoo I'm gonna spend a ton of my time to Lose $ on this one! Weeeeeee"
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Different Business Plans for Different Folks. He has his plan and you have yours correct?
None of my business how you run yours.. just as it is none of my business how Tater Runs his! Nor is is any of His business how you run yours and none of yours of how he runs his!

I find it kind of weird how each vehicle can be very different from others when it come to squeezing money out of it...and the tighter the budget the more creative a guy gets to make sure it ends up being worth while.

I havent hauled many cars this year, because i cant justify spending 3-400 on one car and making 50 bucks. My time is worth more than that. I just bought that 5th ave in oct for 225, sat on it for a month and a bit and just sold it for 550. just like you iv let some go over 25-50 bucks. If i cant see making atleast 30-40 on weight alone I'll let it pass. What i make on weight i use for fuel. The rest is my profit.
If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Kz i can tell you why because most people try to get rich off of one car.
Also they don't do it full time and have full time jobs so they do it on the side.So if they can't make x amount of money then they pass why because they can because it is just extra money to them.

Me i will take and make what i can get why because it is my living and i have always remembered that SOMETHING is better than NOTHING!

Yeah i might not make $200 per car but i bet i still make alot more than most that try to get rich off of one!

Maybe I'm a ludite when it comes to using the search function but I got a blizzard of post when I typed in "step by step scrapping a car".

So just wondering if there was a step by step thread of what you all do to scrap a car? I'm not in a position now or probably the future to do auto scrapping but I would find it interesting just to understand the process. I'm assuming there are a good many things that come off before the rest ends up going to the crushing yard. If anyone can point me the way to such a thread or even a list of things that come off, that would be great!

I found reading through the vehicle recycling section had some cool threads, I just pick a random page and start reading threads. I'm in the same boat as you, probably won't scrap a car for a while, but still cool to know about

Just like regular scrapping, everyone has a different outlook on what comes off a car. Some strip them down including body panels while others pull batt. and alum wheels and haul it in. Could be a short list or a long one.
