What to do with Xbox 360's

Got a second xbox 360 this week. First one had the red ring of death problem then the previous owner took it all apart trying to fix it and I got it in this condition. Second one works but the disc drive gets stuck. Anyone part these out? scrap the guts?

SSA has dropped much wisdom. usually an easy fix on the tray, worst case it is scrap.

Did all xbox 360's have the ability to play normal DVDs? I tried to play one and it says unreadable disc and spits it out. Plays in my xbox fine.

They do, but it sounds like the sensor in the 360's drive is either dirty or stopped reading discs.
