    Disappointing Morning

So i decided to leave early this morning for some after christmas curb shopping hoping to find the old gadgets people replaced with new ones on Christmas morning. Well, unfortunately I was idsappointed. Looks like all everyone wanted to get rid of were all the boxes their presents came in. Oh well, hopefully the weekend will be better.

when I was doing curbco it usually took a week or so for things to start hitting the curb.

I cruised my bedroom community for about an hour before light this morning but didn't even see any garage cans out (several of the haulers here drive into the people's driveways and empty cans. I would only pick stuff up if it was on the actual street side). Picked up nothing but I'll check the various apartment complexes dumpsters come Sunday evening. More "public" than walking up someone's driveway to their garage door. I will try again before light on Monday.

The night of Christmas/next day usually isn't all that great by me, mostly its all the wrapping and packaging.

Yea I looked around my neighborhood on christmas night and there was just a bunch of wrapping paper. People are not very quick about running their old stuff out on christmas night.

It helps if you know your holiday trash pick ups. Down nobody puts their trash out till the night before.

My trash pick up is all jacked up this week an next, but folks will put stuff out Sunday night.

Sirscrapalot - round an round an round we go.

I didn't get much this week, but I'm still working on last week's score, so I'll be busy enough this weekend.

Yep. Just got a couple beach chairs and a tv. drove around for about 20 - 30 minutes. Passed up a small girls bike but it has been sitting on the road for a looong time so i figure when i go by it again i'll just grab it.

After New Years it should pick up...everyone's still digesting their turkey and Christmas cookies...and the kids are still off from school.

I hauled a lot yesterday and planned to ride this morning, until I woke up late with a cold and sore back. There is more work to do in family basements, so I'll be missing a lot of curb time this week.

Well the disappointing morning was getting better as the week went on, until a state trooper decided to pull me over asking what i was doing. In the end, I guess no big deal, he just checked to make sure i had a license and insurance and sent me on my way. The third time I have been stopped by police, but once I explain what I am doing, they are OK with it.

I've found/been given 10 crt in the last 48 hours! The yard I go to is literally over run with them! Also got a dryer yesterday that paid me before the yard did when I found $5+ in change after I took the back off. If the good stuff hasn't gone out yet, I can't wait til it does!

Side note: it's garbage week here, so people are just putting stuff out because they can. I'm also looking forward to a double area night on Thursday because my neighbourhood won't get garbage picked up til Friday (usually Thurs, holiday this week) so I there will be two areas to scour. I can't wait!

"garbage week"??? Such as a neighborhood clean out week where more stuff is picked up for free because I hope you all get trash service at least once a week...if not might get sort of smelly come summer
