I know I watched the guy on "Dream Car" scrap an organ. He got some brass and a good amount of steel out of it. Looks like a pretty good power cord in the pix. This would be about a 30 mile around trip with the van (if it fit and they still had it). Some parts out of it might be ebay-able. I wouldn't be able to keep it whole in the garage long because of domestic ack-ack...

I have an organ at the ranch that the house was remodeled around. It is hoped others will chime in and provide insight for both of us. I would love to get the thing out of the bedroom, short of the chain saw that is being considered. By the way you can have this one to, if you are willing to get it out.

Depending on the organ it may contain a Leslie speaker that can be sold. Do some research on these speakers before you scrap the organ. Mike

I purchased some loose boards from an old organ that had nice mostek white ceramic chips with gold legs. Since they were loose I can't tell you what brand the organ was or how much trouble it was to get them out. I can tell you that I sold all of those boards on Ebay to a music store. Don't remember the price, but it was better thab scrap, especially considering the boards were brown boards and not really worth much to me other than the chips...

Thank you for the compliment, but to put it in perspective: A master scraper would be equivalent to a vet that can do brain surgery on a mouse. I am more of the type to know how to bury an elephant. To much to learn about the details. With this said, my offer for the organ is withdrawn, the chain saw will be the weapon of choice.Looks like you'll have to go out and get Patriots

Organs can have platinum key contacts and some have nice IC chips.
Along with the leslie speaker, which will only have the larger speaker for the bass sound, no tweeters.
I found a keyboard from one once, relised the long earth contact was a Silver wire, or a stick of 'Silver solder'.
But I checked the individual key contact wires and found they were very springy and slightly magnetic.
So I decided they were stainless steel wires.... later I found that they were probably Platinum after all.
After I had chucked it out.
