    4 Ft LED Light

Pick up from a regular yesterday yielded this sweet 4 Ft LED Light...not sure why it was in the pile and it does have some nice Aluminum on it but I wired a cord on it and it seems to work great and is very bright, so in the shop it goes.

You just gotta shake your head when you see some of the stuff that is tossed.

A score, all right!! Looks expensive, too. Your gain!

Since it was from a "regular" I'm guessing they knew it wasn't trash and maybe put it in there as a "meaty bone".

Nothing better than being able to use something yourself. Especially in the shop. Waiting to find a bench grinder. Got lots of tools to sharpen!

Nice find ... never seen a four footer before. I've been gradually switching over to the LED light bulbs for the last few months. They're kind of expensive to buy but they don't use much electricity and if they last as long as advertised it will be a good deal over the long run.

    Let there be light!!

Kz- I've admired your drive and from your pixs ways to keep organized (something I need to improve) and you may have covered this in an earlier post, so pardon me if its been covered already. But what do your "regulars" get from your scrap pick ups; a way to reduce the amount that they throw away so their trash costs are less?, a way to deal with bulkier items (may be tied to the first?)?, a way they can show local or state gov that they're being "greener" and get some sort of break in taxes (or whatever?)? Or do you pay them a little something but at a "wholesale" rate for scrap whereas you're getting "retail" scrap prices?

Just wondering what the "regular" is getting out of it besides their unwanted stuff being "gone"??

    Thanks!

Thanks DRog...As you know every job is different and I will pay if it's worth it, but I prefer to trade my service by providing a way for people and companies to have unwanted assets removed in order to create time and space for them to continue to work on the task or project at hand. Yes, many companies do recycle their own stuff but smaller ones have found that it distracts their employees or it takes more resources and time then they have to recycle and it's just not worth it. Some accumulate for a while then call but many of the jobs are from sites where they are working and they need it out of the way ASAP...Some days it's just a water heater other days it's tonnage.

As time goes by much of the new business is referrals from old customers and so advertising is kept to a minimum.
